You'll need "Dumb Dumb" as reference for this to somewhat make sense but it lowkey works as a stand alone. And from the mv it looks like there will be more mvs surrounding their story

The hammer scene was probably reference to Lisa's hammer scene in the "Lovesick Girls", which along with reference to Jennie is probably emphasizes two sides of Somi - feminine and "badass". The pink "devil" thing is probably representation of such duality. As well as all-pretty Somi, performing high-kick (she has Taekwondo black belt, like her father, who plays police officer here). The guy in the dog's costume represents her cheating ex-boyfriend. The orange outfits are perhaps homage to the Netherlands since Somi is half-Dutch. The scene with Somi rapping and clapping her hands reminds a scene from Tom Macdonald's "No Response" where he goes sarcastic on his opponents.

Fun fact the police in the music video was actually somi's dad that which is really cool and it was actually not supposed to be there but her father showed up in a police uniform and director thought it was a cool shot so they put that in the video

The way he guessed it was all in her head from the editing just shows how much detail goes into every little thing when you make visual art like music videos and other films where you edit. It was so crazy and i wouldøve personally never even thought of that.

Dude - the "cop" is played by Somi's dad (because he looks well western since he is dutch canadian) but your comments when he showed up had me rollin by the way did you notice she even used the little had gesture from Jennie's Solo when she delivered that line :)

The last scene remind some of that iconic Harley Quinn's scene in Birds Of Prey, the message for both scenes were also familiar too! The firework resembles a new colourful beginning as they move forward. (I noticed that she walked away from the explosion with her puppy and as what had been seen in the credit scene, the puppy resembles love¿)

This editing is MY STYLE, omg I loved every second of it. It was so fun and every "flaw" you mentioned was what made it so good for me. It really captured the vibe of the song both lyrically and melodically wise. It not being technically right is what sold me, fav mv in kpop rn

Omg When I first saw the MV ending I also thought the whole mv was just her imagination or dream, and what Jordan said about the continuity thrown out the window and the cutting made it more like a dream sequence made the ending of somi writing in her notebook make so much more sense.

Theory: At the end of the song she writes “BOY, BYE!” in her journal and “BOY, BYE!” could be her next new song, because at SOMI DUMB DUMB the last thing she said to her “boyfriend” XOXO, and her next song was called XOXO. I’m not sure tho it’s just a theory.

I could be wrong, but the car racing part of the video could reflect how both Somi and the ex used to chase after each other, a constant cycle (e.g. the drifting scene), and then the ramp part is Somi ending it once and for all?

The animals are all hanging in a way that was used in the Medieval times to execute traitors- or at least from what Google says- and seeing as how Somi may see her ex as a traitor, the stuffies may represent him but hanged.

I think you notice all those details and things that are badly edited because you are an editor but for the rest of the mortals (or at least for me) they are insignificant details and I didn´t notice them even though I saw the video 200 times
