I also am a dual Brit/Cdn citizen and don’t support the monarchy and loath Trudeau. My thoughts are that Trudeau put on a ridiculous act in response to the queen’s death, trying desperately to squeeze out a few crocodile tears as if he and the queen were best friends. And then on the day of the funeral puts on one of his oh so narcissistic shows of thinking he can sing! It’s all about attracting attention to himself, not actually inappropriate, just a bit weird. He is simply a true narcissist and takes every opportunity to make any event about him. He is also a dangerous dictator, with which narcissism goes hand in hand!

Maybe he thought an Irish wake was in order! While a funeral is a somber event held to mourn the passing of an individual, it is also the celebration of their life. Quite often the two are combined in the days leading up to official funeral. Most people do not go through life without some fun, merriment and good times, and this was our PMs tip of the hat to that. Am I his biggest fan? Not at all. However him singing a Queen tune two days prior to our late Monarchs funeral, is not something to blow out of proportion either.

I see where both sides are coming from...as for how I personally feel about this, the singing before a funeral was in bad taste and untimely although not even remotely close to the worst thing (not to mention the singing occured on DOWNTIME which happened to be recorded.) I've seen far more inappropriate things done with fewer consequences or blowback.We're all human, why do people like to criticise other's mishaps as if the criticiser has no faults?

I think at such a serious time when the British are in the midst of 10 days of mourning our prime minister should have maintained a sense of decorum, acting appropriately and dignified on behalf of Canada throughout his entire trip. In no way should there have been any opportunity for him to make such a spectacle of himself and pull focus from the reason he is there, the queens passing.

For those trying to downplay or brush this off: He was the leader of a delegation to a funeral, at the taxpayers expense. Beyond that though he was representing Canada as a guest in a country that was in the midst of an official period of mourning. The idea that participating in a party under such circumstances is either tolerable or even a good thing shows how unserious and out of touch this country has become.

Canada is living an economic crisis and this clown take 2 weeks vacation to Costa Rica, indolent,( when many canadians are doing sacrifices to be able to finish the month having food and bills payed. As a Canadian who holds both Canadian AND UK citizenship, I celebrate the selfless (though fantastically privileged) life of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Though this is a time of mourning, it is also a time of rejoicing and celebration of her sense of duty over the last 70 years. I think it is great to see Trudeau enjoying "Queen" as I fondly remember HM QE II tapping the teacup and saucer with Paddington Bear to introduce "Queen" during the Platinum Celebrations. Thankfully HM QE II had a greater sense of humour than those who are critical of Trudeau - who is known to be a great admirer of the late Queen.

The track records show he has done a few good things in a rush without having a complete plan for executing them to any meaningful results. Aboriginal reconciliation, legalizing cannabis with no benefits to Canadian companies invested in this industry, pip line purchase was a significant loss, Gun laws that did not prevent illegal guns from coming to Canada or slowing the gun valance, all for to get some suburban votes. Even as a Canadian who doesn't like Trudeau, I have no problems with him singing along with a pianist. Noticeably, nobody's complaining about the pianist playing the song, so why should Trudeau not sing along? PMs are people too.

I am not a Trudeau fan and there are many legitimate things to criticize him for...this is not one of them. I don't see how this is disrespectful - there are other ways to honour and remember the dead outside of being somber or emotional. As a Canadian I don't want my PM singing in a hotel lobby. Yes, it was super disrespectful to do, as he was in the UK during a time of mourning and he was representing Canada. However, I don't think his behaviour is appropriate, no matter the time. One expects more dignity and decorum from their PM. The only place that it is appropriate to be belting out pop songs is on a private vacation at a private party.

Try to examine this in the context of the fact that this man has denied the rights of so many Canadians while singing like no one is watching on the eve of the Queen's funeral no less! While he may be having a jolly old time at the expense of the decorum many Canadians would expect from him (he DOES represent us - as unpalatable and nauseating that is for some of us) and defending him here is narrow minded.
