You are not very well schooled in the conspiracy literature. I believed in conspiracy for 30 years and own and read 24 conspiracy books incl all the famous ones by Lane, Marrs, Garrison, Lifton, Groden etc etc. But I never stepped out of my conspiracy confirmation bubble until 7 years ago. What if Oswald was sick Nov 22 and didn’t come to work or took the day off to reconcile with Marina? What if he got fired from the job days before or Nov 21...(he did get fired from 3 jobs in the 12 months prior to the assassination). After all they couldn’t use his rifle if he wasn’t at work. He was fired from three other jobs the previous year. What if he got fired a week before the assassination? Would the conspirators risk their one big chance to get JFK if this unreliable Oswald didn’t make it to work that day? The trip to Dallas was only scheduled a few weeks prior and the motorcade route was only publicized 4 days before the event. How could conspirators plan to steer him toward Dallas that Fall. What if he actually got into Cuba two months before the assassination? On Nov 22, what if he didn’t stay on the 6th floor during lunch? When he was asked by one of his coworkers, if he wanted to watch the motorcade with him outside, what if Oswald had said yes? What if Oswald moved his rifle from the garage or sold it prior to the assassination? How would conspirators even know he kept it in the Paine’s garage? Even Ruth didn’t know he had a rifle in her garage. The conspirators would have to steal the rifle soon before Nov 22 since Oswald might stumble upon it being missing. Then he could have told police about it being missing - instead he told them he didn’t even own a rifle (just one of many demonstrable lies he told while in custody, indicating a consciousness of guilt). How could they make sure they had unimpeded access to the garage? What if Ruth was around all day and saw them breaking in to steal the rifle? What if a neighbor saw them breaking in? Shooting JFK from at least two locations would have left too many possible outcomes not just for the autopsy but for bystanders at the scene. Setting up Oswald as a lone patsy would most certainly have been jeopardized by bullets entering him from different angles. As it is now the evidence is clear - two bullets from the same direction. What if 4-6 bullets entered from different angles - that’s conspiracy and kills their cover story of Oswald as lone assassin patsy. There’s no way for conspirators to predict what evidence will be uncovered in an investigation. Conspiracy buffs say the conspirators would have taken care of the autopsy to make it look like that. But how could they be certain? How could they be certain the doctors would go along with it? How could they be certain the second or third gunman wasn’t seen? Of all the witnesses that were supposed to be killed in later years by conspirators, for every assassin you employ to kill them you now have another loose end which you then have to do something about. And if any of these attempts fail and the assassin is caught, then you have yet another loose end and a person to spill the beans. When a co-conspirator gets caught (and this is seen in mafia and other criminal conspiracy cases) the prosecution often offers the guilty party a vastly reduced sentence or immunity if their testimony will get a bigger fish. Could the conspirators risk the hundreds of possible hitches and problems that could easily have taken place and that they had little or no power to control? How likely is all this to occur compared to the extremely likely events that ALL the other evidence suggests? Where does the preponderance of evidence lie? If Oswald is a patsy, then there’s no need to shoot him. He looks guilty (which he in fact is) and therefore you can leave him to face the guillotine. Ruby killing Oswald is counter to, and, effectively nullifies the patsy argument. It’s not just that a few of these events had to happen… virtually all of them had to happen. NO!! He was NOT a patsy. The patsy argument is the WORST one anybody could make.

Of the over 20 conspiracy books I owned they all dismissed the counter argument with no evidence or ad hominem slights. All the conspiracy arguments were based on suspicion and conjecture. Read Marina and Lee by Pricilla MacMillan, Oswald’s Tale by Mailer, False Witness by Patricia Lambert, and Vincent Bugliosi’s tome. Larry Sturdivan and Dale Myers books are essential too. Be brave. I finally did after 30 years.
