Even the TINY child looks at the car in confusion and disbelief as it drives off. Who in the world thinks this is an acceptable action

I live in Illinois where it is an automatic license suspension if you pass a stopped school bus on the road. THIS… should be license revocation. No exceptions.

Unfortunately, this isn't the only incident of people with too little patience. I was at a school in a cab (the school doesn't have an official bus and hires cabs along with bus drivers). The cab driver was all the way in the back of the line. Both of the people he was picking up was already in his car. Instead of waiting, he literally did a U-turn onto the grassy hill, onto the sidewalk with kids still being let out through, and out the other way. Needless to say, his boss got a call immediately and he was fired and arrested.

This is very common in NYC. Especially, the outer boroughs. I was working in the Bronx, sitting behind a garbage truck servicing a school. A man in sedan decided to jump the sidewalk and ride it all the way up to the next intersection in a school zone. Very dangerous and reckless.

I've seen people do stupid stuff to avoid traffic, but this is literally insane! I'm a Massachusetts driver, and I am in shock.

He should never ever be allowed to drive again

Those kids were getting off very fast! Driver would’ve only had to wait a maximum of 2 minutes but instead he chose to break the law!

Something like this happened in my elementary school. I was in the eighth grade. My school closes off the street in front of the school because there are over a thousand people waiting outside for school to begin, they won’t all fit on the sidewalk. Some dude had parked inside the street the day before, and that morning he tried to take his car out. Remember, a near 900 students. He kept inching forward like this guy. Me and my friends stared in disbelief. Eventually a security guard saw it and told him he can’t do it.

Arrest him for child endangerment and never let him have a license again. This is ridiculous!! So happy the kids are okay and that didn't end in tragedy, it very well could have

Omg. It amazes me how some people think they can get away with this kind of stupid behavior. I hope there are cameras and this driver is held responsible and he gets what he deserves for putting children’s lives at risk. If I were one of the parents of any of these kids I would find out who ran thru and go and teach them a lil lesson

I was waiting behind a school bus in front of a school one morning, the kids were about to get off it. It was one lane of traffic, but the road was just wide enough that a car could still go around and squeeze through. The car in back of me began a move to go around me and pass the bus, but I pulled out and blocked it. F that, they weren't getting around if I could stop it.

Take away his/her license forever and give him/her some jail time to ponder his/her actions!!!

UPDATE: Samuel Itzkowitz, 23, has been arrested and issued a desk appearance ticket in connection with this incident. He is charged with four misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, failure to stop for a school bus, and driving on the sidewalk.

I'm glad none of the children were hurt. But, I think what shocks me the most is that there are actually people in the comment section defending the driver's actions, or at least trying to justify them....That driver should NOT have been on the sidewalk. Period. SMH.

Hey this reminds me of my old highschool.

How is it possible that grown men on the scene didn't stop the driver? I'm an old woman in a walker and I'd have stop the evil driver. Shame on the driver, take away the driver license Forever!! Shame on the cowardly men who let it happen and didn't really protect the kids. Please follow up with the judge.

I cannot believe that how could someone give themselves the right to do such a thing when they see all those sweet little children just trying to get to school please tell me that this person is going to be held accountable for this!?!?!?!?

there was an ADULT THERE! What did he do, NOTHING!! I would stand in the way of this reckless motor vehicle and would have been punching the hood if they tried to move. Call 9-1-1 while blocking this guy. It's sad he wasn't willing to do anything as the only adult around outside of the buses/bus drivers. I see that driver WAS CHARGED. for this, but didn't see what the sentencing would be. This should have included public safety work around schools (if the perp isn't a perv/SO) and loss of privilege to drive, FOREVER. There is no world where this man should ever be able to legally drive again. But likely after fines are paid, this guy was able to get back into his car and endanger the lives of others once again. Our laws around cars, and the willingness for judges to take away such privilege need a lot of work.

Wreckless driving has become a VERY serious issue here in StL. I don't even want to leave my driveway anymore because of it. Unless I absolutely have to. Not to mention random highway shootings over the last 6 yrs or so. We really need much tougher laws on driving offenses.

Yes going on the sidewalk is crazy, but for me it was the excelerstion passing the other buses that got me. You saw how the kids just walked right onto the sidewalk not expecting a vehicle. Thankfully the other buses were already empty or hadn't opened there doors yet.

If he was willing to keep inching forward like he was, I have no doubt he'd have absolutely gunned the gas, and driven over one or several just to avoid having to wait behind the buses.
