This is the type of officer that an intelligent criminal would take advantage of to escape. The deputy seems too nice, too courteous and too sympathetic.

Many hosts and some of their guests talk about what this officer's strategy is. It's psychology. He keeps the perp loose by engaging him in small talk in order for other cops to have an opportunity with the criminal later. This officer has kids and he's not having a ball talking to this idiot.

He doesn’t deserve a blanket, no. The thought of having to have conversation with him makes me sick. I will say I give respect to this Sheriff though for being able to be humane to such a despicable, deplorable person. I don’t know if I could, but I have to give him props for being respectful and humane.

It is possible to both look at S.S. act as terrible and to treat him like a human being. Many people are dehumanized in jail. Lot of people speaking from anger, but don’t forget to think about if you or you loved one was the one sitting in the back of the cop car.

They didn’t beat him, or allow him to be brutalized by other inmates. He obviously received medical care if he could track his temperature, he was kept safe, and to be honest I don’t believe a word of what he says. If my family member did to a child what that monster did to that little girl for years and then murdered them and dumped their body in the woods, all alone for days I would have trouble finding much sympathy for them. Blood or not.

He’s doing his job, he does not need to mistreat the prisoner regardless of his crime, his job is not to judge him his job is to transport him!! We know the dude is a “monster” but like it or not he’s still a human being with rights! Besides, the vehicle records everything!

You can tell the cop is disgusted with him.. get a grip OP. He’s playing him looking for info, trying to make him comfortable enough with him. Why do you think he mentions his own kid and Plays into his small talk of classical music.. it’s a tactic. This cop is great. He’s also probably trying to separate his emotions from the situation. Obviously the cop has sympathy of Madeline.. again.. get a grip OP.
