When Miu spoke to the adult woman and told her he was looking for a phone, and the teenagers were being disrespectful, she should not have escalated the situation by shouting at him and calling the teenagers over to surround him, that woman is every bit as responsible for what happened, shame on her.

So by your standards that Savage sliced those kids to ribbons and she's just as responsible because she was being a silly teenager who had too much to drink, that's what you're saying,?! And just so you know, no one uses and I mean no one uses a knife that way and hasn't had the experience that he's had. I can tell you this, that knife that he had was made for assaults, a short blade knife is more suitable for close combat than what you would think of big scary knife would look like, he's done that before, I wish they had to take the time to go find out some of his background in romania. Is a murdering Savage and you're trying to hold that little girl up and make her as comfortable as him for what he did to those kids.

@fleapo0p2946 Not guilty by self defense. In the video the knife was after being put under water twice while being hit from multiple people. Also, he didn't go after anyone the people stabbed came at him. If he had done nothing they could have drowned him. Just because there teens doesn't mean they can do no harm to others. Afterwards he was in shock that was traumatic event for all involved and probably forgot that he was being recorded. Their words against him, and they too lied when first talking to the cops. It's sad someone lost there life an it's even more sad that a parent had to watch their son act like that in his final moments. My heart goes out to them. This is truly a no win situation.

There's video of him being attacked verbally and physically by multiple people. Those same people have no reliable recollection of what happened and some were even caught lying. Despite all that, this poor man was found guilty. The only explanation I can think of for this is that the jury went in with a decision in place and no amount of evidence was going to change their mind. Seems like there was a big name in a small town involved. These kids learned they could act like this and get away with it and they did. There's probably a reason for that. So why did he go to the opposite side of the river? Just the harass these kids. From the start of the video this weirdo murderer grabs the kids. He makes first contact. Those kids have every right to tell that dude to leave. He refused to leave time and time again! It's not hard for a grown ass man to walk away. He chose to position himself in front of the kids floating path and impeding their ability to continue floating and leave. There is absolutely nothing self defense in this situation. Because even those these young people were the ones who instigated the attack, Miu technically escalated by pulling out a knife, and specifically because one of these individuals died from being stabbed. The state thinks Miu wasn't scared for his life and could have left the attack. And he did leave the scene of the crime after the stabbing, and lied to police about him being the one involved. Which is pretty sketchy. But... One could argue he thought the police wouldn't believe his story. I doubt he knew it was being recorded. Or he fled because he felt he was at fault. Idk. I'm personally torn in this case. It's clear to me that none of the stabbings would have taken place if these young people didn't start randomly and agressively calling him names like pedophile while surrounding him and taunting him, even making veiled threats. So that's on them. They could have simply left him alone. However it's hard to know if Miu truly feared for his life. Like I do wonder if it's possible that he wasn't truly afraid UNTIL the guys started punching and knocking him down in the water (while having him surrounded), and then at that point he couldn't escape. It's hard to say. But I can definitely see myself in that position and being afraid I'm gong to get knocked out and drown. Or that one or a couple of the guys would hold my head under and drown me. I mean in fairness you have no idea what someone is going to do to you in that situation. Just like these young guys didn't know Miu would pull a knife. I wish I could see in Mius head and know what he was thinking. If he REALLY thought he was going to die if he didn't use the knife, then if course he should be let free. But if he didn't, he needs to be found guilty. The problem is figuring out which is the case. I feel like I'll have a better idea when I see his testimony. I've learned how to read body language so I'm very curious to see his responses.

He walked right up without saying anything, and grabbed and felt around the theirs tube while they were still in them. I can see why they felt he was creepy, it was like he was trying to touch them. However, they reacted terribly by bullying him, and so did the woman that yelled at him to leave. Now I understand why she wanted him to leave, he looked like a creep that walked up to the boys. But they all got physical with him, everyone involved handled this badly. (Original post before seeing the new video): Let me get this straight. This man was just looking for a lost phone. They didn't like this man coming near their little area, when he slipped and grabbed one of their tubes to catch himself, they said "You've got 10 seconds", warning him to leave the area. They didn't ask what he wanted, they just didn't like the look of him. Then they made up a lie about him looking for girls and started taunting him by saying it out loud. He walked away from them to ask the other woman of she saw a phone, and she immediately told him to leave without listening to him. She was verbally harsh with him, then she pushed him, and the teen agers surrounded him. Perhaps he pushed her back, and the teenagers pounced on him. he used his knife to defend himself. This is definitely a case that should be used in schools to increase awareness of how bullying/harassment behaviours can escalate with life changing consequences. All that can be gained from this tragic event is that bullying/harassment of others is never ok and should be avoided. Clearly, respectful behaviours need to be a bigger part of what kids are taught at school and at home. Nothing good can ever come from bullying harassment no matter what the outcome.

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 lol @ "expert". Typically I won't respond when someone feels the need to resort to insults, btw. I heard his testimony and it made me ascribe enough blame to him for being in their area that he should receive lesser charges. The kids were wrong with how they escalated things. No doubt about that. But he was wrong for encroaching in their area. The problem for him is he had a lethal force tool. You can't roll up on 8 toughs on a street corner and start probing questions and snooping around and then when they get annoyed and tell you to go away, you just stick around grabbing at their feet and bags. And then another group comes in and tells you also to go away and you still remain and then when shouting and shoving starts you start spraying ammunition all over the place. That's not how self-defense works. He should have removed himself from the encounter he put himself into. He also admitted to taking a swipe at the 1st girl. Also, hearing his interrogation? He lied about the source of the knife...because he knows what it means to bring that into the encounter.

In their world, after their ego has been questioned, the ‘bullying’ deserves physical violence. Miu said so himself in the interrogation video his ego was hurt and he couldn’t let them get away with that. Also, most of these boomer/ gen x commenters are hypocrites, because they were legally able to drink at the age of 18, and most drank before that age as well. I’ve also noticed people mad Miu didn’t wait for a lawyer in interrogation even tho his rights had been read to him and as a 52 year old adult man should’ve known better, and told lie after lie anyway. It seems they wanted him to get a lawyer to I don’t know, lie better? No wonder this country is going downhill, it’s ran by adult babies that don’t even know their own rights.

Self-defense? He approached them first. He accosted them first. He got physical with them first and put his hands on them first when he grabbed the guys in tubes by the legs and when he pushed a woman while he was in a drunken stupor. The young men reacted in defense to him pushing the girl and grabbing the guys. What those young people did was a reaction to this man's aggressive behavior towards them. This man then pulled out a knife and proceeded to slaughter 5 young people like he was Jason Voorhees. After the murder and attempted murders, the murderer then fled the scene of the crime. The murderer then desposed of the murder weapon. The murderer disguised his appearance. The murderer then fabricated a story to police. Self-defense? In what world is that self-defense? No. This is absolutely not self-defense. This is his version of self-defense, which is what he came up with once he realized the incident was recorded on video and his made-up stories wouldn't work anymore. That's when this turned into self-defense for him. His version of self-defense is an after-the-fact excuse that he made up to mitigate the murder and attempted murders of 5 people. Don't confuse self-defense with exacting revenge. He didn't defend himself. He tried to murder 5 people, and all because some kids hurt his feelings when they called him names.
