They don’t even get paid what was promised. Their PMC’s though get $21 a head, and big sum per village. Before any deluded Putin lover says, that is propoganda, I’ve heard it straight from their mouths many times. PMC’s and mercenaries are legal in Russia, however it’s illegal to discuss them. How perverted is that? So you can be imprisoned for talking about it, but not for being in one.

So when will russian civilians start the mass protests? They already know whats going on in ukraine and syrely must know the risk of it coming to russia if they do nothing, just like germany in ww2 (which i would rather not happen, because war is bad in general). Besides yes they face fines or jail, but eastern europe faced torture and execution under communism, so maybe they just dont care enough? (Will they care when they do face bullets due to inaction?). I understand its hard, but freedom cost with a price...west paid it awhile ago. The russians can peacefully end this war, they just need to stand together and stop this war despite the very oppressove govt (south korea did it and they risked death)...and give back crimea and all that.

Many know but refuse to know. Not long ago Putin decided to drown many of their sons in their submarine rather than allow anyone to come to their aid. In the instance of another submarine, Kursk, when Putin refused to allow aid to a crew that was suffocating, the government's illegal tactics against the attorney for some of the families of the seamen, Kuznetsov, targeted him in his representation of the families, his clients, and he now has political asylum in the US. This moment with the Kursk was when Russia began its current descent. Putin was newly in office and very off-balance, so in order to indulge himself in a fake sort of certainty, in his fear and unwillingness to be the real leader Russia needed, he took the coward's route and began his fall into dictatorship.

Not because they had an issue with the war itself. The issue was they were lied to. They were entitled to time off and were tricked and sent back to fight. This is why they stood up. Not because of the war itself. They'd already served their time. I doesn't seem they had any issues with the war or what they were doing... at least not any issues that reached an issue that made them decide that they wouldn't participate. @@JW-zx5dr Yeah we know lots of people are willing to give up their morality for pretty much anything. I'd rather be classed as a traitor then to go into war occupying another country. Maybe you need to be rememberred that the Russians are not fighting for their country, this is not a defensive war for Russia. Russia is the invader, the agressor. What is happening here is just like Canada attacking and occupying the USA after the januari 6 coup attempt. You have to be utterly out of your mind to fight in a war like that. Fighting in a war like that shows us that you have no humanity left in you. So yes every single second is a bad thing.

He’s really a Patriot to his country! If he didn’t questioned his leaders illegitimacy to invade a sovereign country for no reason but to satisfy a mad man (Putin) request? He questioned his own country’s legitimacy on why are they invading Ukraine? A country they weren’t at war with Russia before?!? "When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." Thomas Jefferson

Normal for Russia. Read Svetlana Alexiovich -she reports Russians in their own words, and won a Nobel Prize for it. This has been normal in Russia for 300yrs : serfdom ended in 1861, but nothing changed, in fact things got worse with the Gulags.

I don't need to read hired moppets. Serfdom is alive and well in the British Empire aka "the West". Unless you have a cushy government job, they would usually drink your blood for the money they pay you in the private sector. It is called "Our Liberal World Order".

@@julianpetkov8320 Totally wrong. I'll give just one example... In 1895 General Gordon defeated the Mahdi. His first dispatch included plans to build a college at Khartoum. PM Lord Salisbury replied, "It will help spread civilization" When did Russia ever build a college ? The Russian elite spoke French for 200yrs. They were so backward they could only ape the Europeans.
