Here's Kuja's true theme. Behind his flowery words and flamboyant exterior is the heart of a monster. When this song is first heard, you know who the true villain of the war Alexandria wages, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, even defying the words of his own creator to do so. Kuja's third and final theme awaits, and with it, my all time favorite non-Final Boss theme.

0:00 Let's compare the ending of FFIX's Disk 1, with that of VII's and VIII's: In VII, Disk 1 ended with Aerith's death and Cloud tragically laying her body to rest in the pond of the Ancient Capital in one of the FF series most emotional and tear jerking scenes. In FFVIII, Disk 1 ended with Edea impaling Squall with an ice shard with Rinoa crying out in shock and anguish as the screen dramatically zooms out in what is a pretty tense closing scene. The difference, is that both VII's and VIII's Disk 1 one endings had emphasis on the love stories with a lot of emotion and drama (though VII had more of a love triangle), while with IX's Disk 1 ending all we get is an FMV wanking Kuja and him flaunting his man-thong. ( Men do not have such waistlines like Kuja's, btw) We don't get a dramatic and emotional Disk 1 ending scene with Zidane and Garnet like what the previous games did, and it's all because Garnet abandoned Zidane and causing everything to go wrong, and we are going to see it all get worse on Disk 2, brace yourselves. Thank you for ruining the Disk 1 ending, along with the rest of the game, Dagger.

What makes you think that Brahne is going to suddenly attack you, you who has been helping her this whole time? (She does attack him, but it's stupid, which I will be explaining soon this chapter) Isn't that counterproductive to your plan? (I will be explaining that fully when Kuja tries to get Alexander on Disk 3) Also, stop trying to pretend that you are a master planning genius, Kuja. The only reason that everything has been going your way so far has been due to plot contrivances like Dagger being an idiot and running back to Alexandria to basically give you and Brahne the Eidolons (in which that required no effort and manipulation from you) and Tot and Cid not suspecting about Kuja way sooner. Kuja "Now it no longer matters if the Iifa Tree is liberated! It means nothing to me!" "Mwahaha... The tree is so beautiful! Its beauty becomes the great mother tree that lives among the stars!" "Silver Dragon, let us watch the drama unfold from the trunk of Iifa. No one shall interrupt us there." There goes Kuja's embarrassing attempts at poetry again. Also, what do you mean by "liberated"? Are you referring to the barrier put on the Iifa Tree by Carbuncle? So you did know about that? This just goes back to my question a few chapters ago about how did Kuja meet the Soul Cage before and how the Soul Cage knew about Kuja making Black Mages if there was a barrier around the tree preventing access this whole time? 1:45 Kuja "Welcome to my humble abode." Zidane "Just cut to the chase and tell me what the hell you want!" Kuja "My, we're upset, aren't we? Well, this is your errand..." "I want you to go somewhere and bring something back for me." Zidane "So, tell me what it is already, you demon!" Kuja "I'd watch my mouth if I were you." "Surely, you haven't forgotten that I hold your friends' lives in my hands." Why can't some of the characters just go Trance or Garnet and Eiko can summon Eidolons to bust out of the cells? This is as stupid as in the original FFVII when the party is rescuing Aerith from the Shinra Building and they get easily captured just because the Turks, Rude and Tseng, sneak up behind them in the elevator and tell them to "push up" and the party just GIVES UP, despite fighting off Turks like Reno before and big battle robots. Not to mention that they had no problem fighting in the elevator later when it was against some Shinra machines. Thankfully, the VII Remake removed that stupid scene. Zidane "Grr!" Kuja "I'm going to send you to a place called Oeilvert." Zidane "Where's that?" Kuja "Oeilvert is south of the Seaways Canyon on the Forgotten Continent." "It really isn't my kind of place." The cretinism continues. Kuja, who said on the first disc that Zidane could become a problem, sends him to a place where only Zidane can find out the details of the plot about Terra. He stupidly informs his main opponent just like that, when he could send someone like Steiner to Oeilvert, who would easily do this for the sake of the princess. Zidane "What do you mean by that?" Kuja "You see, there's an anti-magic barrier around that place." "And I want to send you because you're too stupid to use magic." Uh, several of the characters can use magic, Kuja. Especially Vivi, Eiko and Garnet. Stop talking out your ass. Actually, why can't Zidane use magic? He is supposed to be a superior version of Kuja who uses powerful magic, yet Zidane can't? Also how is there still an anti-magic barrier around Oeilvert? Shouldn't the technology generating that barrier have worn out and broken down by now (along with the other tech) considering that place has been vacant for a long time with no one to keep it renovated?

This is the problem with Kuja, he spends most of the game being a moustache twirling cartoon villain, doing stereotypical cartoon evil behaviour and generic JRPG stuff, but then, at the last minute, the game forcefully tries to make him out to be "complex, tragic and sympathetic". Instead of drawing inspiration from a Shakespearian antagonist, Square apparently decided to base Kuja on the attention-whoring snots who get rejected at their auditions to play Shakespearian antagonists. Overlooking the man-thong, the effeminate hair tosses, the mincing, the temper tantrums, and the embarrassing attempts at poetry, there just isn't much going on with this guy. He's like that one insufferable drama whore you knew back in high school: he always has to be the centre of attention, he never shuts the hell up even when he has nothing worth saying, and even when doing something immoral, he acts like he's standing in front of a full-body mirror and practicing for his role as Scar in the spring semester production of 'The Lion King'. His only real interesting moments occur when he's ripping off of 'Blade Runner' and is revealed as Zidane's brother. But, as said above, that happens so late and forcefully into the game that you wonder why they even bothered (It's like the revelation that Lynx was Serge's father in Chrono Cross). But I will address that all when we get to that point. Even his theme music (which plays right here) is over the top and sounds like a generic "look at me, I'm EEEEVVVVVVIIIIIILLLLLLL *insert stereotypical evil laughter here*" music theme.
