डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर (1891-1956) पूर्ण नाव भीमराव रामजी आंबेडकर. स्वतंत्र भारताच्या पहिल्या मंत्रिमंडळात कायदेमंत्री आणि भारतीय घटनेचे शिल्पकार, दलितांमध्ये स्वत्वाची जाणीव निर्माण करणारे क्रांतिकारक महापुरुष, आयुष्यभर ज्ञानसाधना करून कायदेशास्त्र, अर्थशास्त्र, समाजशास्त्र इ. ज्ञान शाखांवर प्रभुत्व मिळविले. भारतीय समाज्याच्या उन्नतीसाठी त्यांनी आपले जीवन समर्पित केले. भारत सरकारने त्यांना ‘भारतरत्न’ या पुरस्काराने सन्मानित केले. ‘मूकनायक’, ‘जनता’ या नियतकालिकांचे ते संस्थापक होते. तसेच ‘हू वेअर दि शूद्राज?’, ‘थॉटस ऑफ पाकिस्तान’, ‘बुद्ध अ‍ॅण्ड हिज धम्म’ हे ग्रंथ त्यांनी लिहिले.
