Nearly 6 years ago, my friend Fabienne and I headed out to ride from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi on motorbikes. In this fireside chat, I reminscene about our adventure.
Thank you for watching :)

What a fantastic adventure! What terrible bikes (just as well was a mechanic on every street corner)! Very impressed with the both of you for just ploughing into that, good work!

Hi Keïteï, Thanks for sharing that. What an extraordinary life you have had to date what with all the urbex stuff in the early days, all the travel, wild camping, tiny house, and now most adrenalin fuelled of all a bake-off with Knick-Knack😀🤣😂. You mentioned being on your deathbed (which god willing is many many decades away) and looking back on your adventures, do you think you will ever find yourself thinking of someone you knew perhaps from school who married in their teens, bought a house, had a family in their twenties and led a bog-standard but rock stable life and wishing you’d taken that path?? I suspect we are all glad you didn't otherwise we'd never of heard of you. Cheers Graham

Cheers Graham :) Yes, I sometimes forget all the adventures I've been on. I don't think I will regret the life I've lived so far, it has not been a standard life with a 9-5 job, mortgage, kids, 1 holiday a year. Living that life is fine but it is not the path I choose. :) Heres to more adventures! :D

At my time of life it will probably remain a bucket list item, but thanks for sharing it looked totally awesome. Note to self, buy a decent bike.

Great share. Not sure I would be so adventurous. I know a guy in Somerset who could teach you to rebuild a 125cc in no time at all (He's also a half decent welder and bird whisperer to boot). Utter Pradesh for your next motorcycle adventure I reckon, mechanics there rebuilt my brothers gearbox in his Enfield for $15. Be well.

Thank you for watching and leaving a comment Martin. I think I know the guy you speak of - very lovely chap and also a fellow rider :) Uttar Pradesh looks great, am adding it to the list!

That’s definitely an adventure and a half! Not sure I’d trust the drivers over there 😬😆. Fabienne definitely had a strange accent (sorry Fabienne😬) guess she’s traveled a lot down under?!?

Haha it was pretty mad, you'd be surprised how far a horn beep goes XD Fabienne is french but after travelling for so long, her accent had started to change, I thin she had spent some time in Australia though :)

I'd love to visit Vietnam and do something like this. Are you sure people weren't sabotaging your bikes, do you think the heat expanded the air in your tyres causing puncture's?
@Marvininini
@Marvininini 5 ай бұрын
the bikes they got were just extremely worn and way past their maintainable lifespan. they basically just get kept alive because you can fix them on the cheap for a few bucks and then sell them to unknowing backpackers for outrages amounts of money (200usd for a bike that's effectively worthless is a good profit margin). locals would never ride bikes likes the ones in the video. everyone knows they're dangerous and unreliable. but you can easily get very riliable bikes as well. i lived there for 2.5 years, rode 32.000km all over the country on a used Honda XR150 and never had a real breakdown apart from regular wear and tear.

I think the bikes were just super old and worn - we were luckily to get as far as we could on them without any more trouble than we encountered with them.

Hi Keitei ! Love your lifestyle and adventures. I’m curious how I can do the same, I’ve always had a desire to travel but at the age of 25 my times getting short and I’ve found myself in a comfortable rut of familiarity and fear of leaving. I was curious if we could connect for a chat? I will happily pay you and it can be kinda like a life coaching session where you give me some advice and mentoring. I Would love to chat and get some wisdom and advice from your travels Feel free to reply your email, and I can email you if you’re open to chat. I’d leave my email but I think my comment will be marked as spam. Kind regards from Australia, Corey
