Thanks everyone that requested I do one of my slow stitched journal cover focal points on camera! This was fun and great to get another one almost finished! Thanks, too, for having patience with the bumbling stitcher! For some real experts, check out the links below. Thanks for watching! xoxo

If you are filming and talking, I am watching and learning. Anything you do offers an opportunity to expand my knowledge of possibilities in journaling that I would never have even thought about, and your conversations have become like visits from a friend. Any topic offered by a video is good with me.

Gayle, to help separate your thread, so you don’t fight tangles tape a piece of tape on one of the ends and tape it to your table. As you separate the thread it keeps a tension that prevents tangles and knotting. It’s something I learned and it really helps with longer threads that tend to tangle and that way you don’t have to fight knots or tangles. If you have leftovers they are easier to re attach to your spools too Washi tape works or painters tape bc it’s not over sticky but has an adequate hold most times. Not trying to be bossy I promise, just trying to make it easier :)

Good morning Gayle, there is something so satisfying about slow stitching. I am still learning about it, have done it, and thoroughly enjoy. Very relaxing, and calming for me. Thank you so much for showing your process for stitching. So grateful for your conversation and that belly band you made is stunning! Love the colours, they just seem to pop! Have a blessed weekend Gayle, hope you and your family are doing well. ❤️🌹

I loved watching a slow stitch. I never knew about doing a French knot seven times. I was always taught three times around. I do a lot of things backwards like you wrap the thread towards you I wrap it away from me you tie a bow with the loop in your right hand I do it in my left. I did watch Rachel so I realize I’m doing it left-handed and I never knew it until I started watching people on KZfaq doing it what to me was backwards. I think I do a lot of things backwards, two left-handed people tried to teach me how to use chopsticks and I’m right handed, it was a struggle but I use them right handed.

I have done a little bit of slow stitching. Always think I have to do different stitches, but when I see a piece with mainly the running stitch I love how it looks. Sometimes simple is best. Thank you for sharing yourself and your crafting with us. I’ll be working on a yellow piece to wrap on a wooden spool for my craft room. Working on reclaiming my craft space after my middle son moved to Florida for med school. Enjoy your time with all your grandchildren!!!

Gosh, I've been wanting to get to doing some slow stitch work. My mother taught me to embroider when I was very young. I used to put different things on the end of a white pillow case and embroider them. Gee, I don't know what happened to the things I made, but I sure wish I had them now. I do love doing embroidery work, but it's been awhile. I've done mainly counted cross stitch for years, but it's been so long for the regular slow-stitch embroidery. So glad to see it being used for all of this, though. You and Rachel have been really inspiring me to get back at it. Oh, and a tip. I always put the end of the thread in my mouth (teeth hold onto it) to pull it apart. That's how my mom showed me & I still do it that way. Don't know if you want to do it that way, but thought I'd mention it. God Bless. Sue

This video was not boring at all. Thank you for sharing some tips and walking us through your process! I don't slow stitch often, but you're reminding me how easy it is and that I can do it while being otherwise entertained (TV, conversation, etc.). Do you have a favorite place where you buy remnants or things like that? I'm trying not to keep a huge stash around my house, so I haven't committed to buying yards at the local craft stores. I much prefer buying scraps, but I haven't found places online with prints that I like very much (vintage, floral, etc.).
