A series of views across the French Alps from the tiny ski station of Mont Saxonnex which is near to Cluse, in the Haute-Savoie department of France.
We were walking in the area, and took shots of the surrounding mountain from a DJI Mini2 drone. Views include the Grand and Petit Bargy peaks from Lac Bénit, views down to Morsulaz and around to Cluse, Marnaz, Scionzier and to the rivers of l’Avre and the Giffre. Taking in the Mole peak on the opposite side of the valley, we pan round to see the Samoens valley, the pass through to Les Gets and Morzine, and the series of ridges beyond.
Ski tows in summer, dry pistes and a beautiful green alpine lake, this is the Aravis range of mountains, technically in the ‘prealps’. As the first set of mountains in the Alps, we see the flatlands beyond and the route to Geneva curving round the last (or first!) bumps of the Alps.
As English people, we typically murder the French language. Hence lots of corrections to our terrible pronunciation, from the fantastic Forvo website (www.forvo.com).
