I absolutely love this game. The sidequests alone, are numerous enough to compete with other titles in the genre, but the campaign is where it is at. So many secrets, sequence breaks, and NPC's to explore as well as weapon customization, it may cause you to abandon the main quest for hours at a time. Great review, as always.

Thank you for this video, yours is definitely the best I've found for reviews due to the detail and contextualization you provide on each game you cover. For instance, on the game's skill tree being "complex", many other reviews had mentioned it in passing but I'd only gone "ahh yeah, so it has one, cool". But you mentioning how it could be overwhelming for non-RPG players, and how it interacted with the leveling system to affect the difficulty curve, showed me just how complex it truly was-and convinced me to buy the game for good.

Exactly! You are the first reviewer that has addressed the paper cut out style. Too many reviewers seem to overlook this aspect which imo is almost always a deal breaker- I knew what I was getting into, but still bought it, tried to like it, but the paper cut out animation is lame. C'mon. I wish developers would stop passing this off as acceptable. There are times it can be used to good effect, but should never be center stage for a game's visuals. It looks cheap because it is cheap...

Why is no one talking about this game? It's amazing. It's up there in the ranks of Hollow Knight, Blasphemous and Dead Cells. Definitely a hidden gem.

I didn't finish it yet because honestly I'm just sooooo tired of every indie game being souls hard is that a requirement for indies now? Not that I mind a challenge but I'd be nice to be able to get through a game without having to get frustrated and walk away super metroid had the perfect experience of constant progress and it seems now that all metroidvanias are just hard bring on the get good but I only have a limited time to invest in games and alot nowadays seem you have to give them so much time to learn that I get pushed away
