Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark answered questions after practice on Friday about their Game 2 loss to the New York Liberty the night before.
"The more disappointing thing is I felt like we did it to ourselves - energy and effort stuff that could have been a lot better."

Boston isn't really being interviewed, just the trash coach. Boston is playing poorly but she's also being a supportive teammate beyond her terrible performance. Also, her presence takes a huge load off Clark and they'd both be playing worse without her. These two young stars need a legit coach. Unfortunately, even getting a good coach today would take time to adjust to.

Correct, I’m hoping for an improvement in todays game as the last one was hard to watch. We know the players can play better than that, especially Caitlin, Aliyah and NaLyssa. It’s embarrassing to see them so confused out there and the only thing I can think of is potentially the coach isn’t that good. I hope we see a better game plan from Christie today and if not, something has to change as the main core of this team is great, the main issue appears to be the coach. NaLyssa was actually asked a few weeks ago a question in a interview on who her best coach has been so far and she said Kim Mulkey, a WNBA shouldn’t be saying her college coach is better than her WNBA coach as coaches should be better in the WNBA. I’m rooting for them though, they have great potential they just need more time together and maybe a new coach for next season that knows how to get the best out of their players instead of trying to change them.

the problem right now isn't that they're losing. It's how they're losing as well as the style of ball they're playing. This is ugly to watch and there's no passion as well as chemistry. She seems to not be mentally there and not confident in herself. She has to learn to forget what the coach says and just have fun. Play how she plays and stop overthinking shit. Communicate with your teammates and be the same leader you were at iowa. She's deferring too much, not moving enough, not being loud and vocal. This is very bad mentally especially when this is what allowed her to be good at Iowa. Hence, this fever team is actually worse than last years team and if you pay attention they actually become better at times when clark is on the bench.

I think people understand that but they’re confused about the coaching. The players not setting screens, standing still, missing layups, no game plan and being slow is a bad look for a professional basketball player. If there’s no improvement in the next couple of games, they need to get a better coach as we know the players can play better than what we’ve seen. They look so confused and out of place which is sad to see, it’s obvious something is going wrong with the coach. I feel sorry for them, I just hope it gets better as the pressure they’re under is harsh. I hope they’re speaking with someone to make sure they’re ok as the criticism I’ve seen from people is brutal.

Maybe this year use it to weed out the players that need to go. Get some free agents who want to play and have another good draft. I expect this team will be drafting in the top 3 next year. Why did they change up when before the TO the Fever were getting the momentum and putting the Liberty off balance and cutting into the lead with some great aggressive play on both ends of the court with CC on the point? I felt bad for the players, their confidence was shattered which was made evident by their total hesitation. @@kathy0698 she is touching the ball though. A lot of you guys don't understand that the problems are more complicated than her not touching the ball. Think from a big "team" perspective. As opposed to "clark" isn't touching the ball. The problem is the sets and ball movement is awful right now and it seems to me that they're smaller and also getting outrun by opposing teams. Clark isn't doing herself any favours by not making her shots and getting a lot of turnovers. At the end of the day once your teammates also see that when your getting the ball your looking for them and also taking good shots, they begin to naturally gel with you and trust you. Iowa native, Hawkeye ('83), and I'm new fan to the WNBA and my wife and I have watch all four games of the Fever so far, and I get it, they're still figuring it out and how to play together, but what I don't understand about last night's game is, the Fever were starting to get momentum with CC on the point running the offense, getting agressive and pushing it hard, they were cutting into the Liberty's lead, showing sparks of D with some great stops, causing the Liberty to be off balance and then a TO, and when they came back on the floor CC was at the #2. WHY? I don't get it. Why stop doing what was working before the TO? Self inflicted wounds always hurt worse. For most of last night the whole team looked more like the Washington Generals playing against the Harlem Globetrotters, it just seemed liked everything they were were doing (which was mostly hesitating: hesitating to shoot, hesitating to drive into the paint, hesitating to go after offensive rebounds, it was as if the Fever were only there for the benefit of the Liberty to put on the Liberty show. The schedule the league has set up for the fever was always going to be tough for the first month, they’re literally facing some of the best defensive teams in the league back to back. If there’s no improvement in todays game with being quicker, moving more, setting screens etc then the head office and Linn Dunn need to step in and get a better coach as we know they can perform better. I feel sorry for them as I know they’re under a lot of pressure and Christie Sides really isn’t doing anything to help with the game plan she is giving them. You can tell they’re nervous out there which is sad, I wish them the best. Good luck in today’s game, I’m rooting for you all! 🥳🥺

Not sure this team has the right coaches and players to fully realize and implement the impact of a player like Caitlin Clark. Most of us Clark fans did not expect to see her come into the WNBA and dominate. But I think what we DID expect, or at least were hopeful for, was watching her play for a good, well coached team. While we're all hopeful they can course correct...I'm seeing neither. Have a feeling there will be a lot of changes and wake-up calls in the future for the Indiana Fever.

This team gave up. She didn't have her best game, but they let her down, big time. The whole team was horrible. Missed layups, still can't rebound or box out, and they allowed 102 points. Nobody asked or talked about the biggest weakness of the Fever: rebounding. They absolutely suck at offensive rebounding. If they miss a basket, they just give up. It LOOKS pathetic. As for defensive rebounding, geez, they are not even there under the net. I keep seeing Fever's players being surround by two or three defenders under the net, and seeing the opponents making lay ups without anybody around them! This is easily 30 points per game. Easily.

Catilyn has talent only needs work on shots right handed there over playing her left and double team with height always. Coach sides should have wheeler trailing her for open shots 2-3 quick passes open shot to player levy hull good shooter give her playing time with Clark instead of wheeler who dribbles with her head down doesn’t look for CC period ❤❤❤ love you CC

I like the offense ideas. The good thing about this, is that these are two of the toughest teams. So, everyone can learn from them, too. Emulate or copy what they do. When you think you can, in parts of your game. Use them to teach you. And do that. They are your teachers, too. Not just about what your doing. You are learning from them. They do this-and-this. Also, look at what the team does, as you go down court towards your basket. -Are they setting? Are they bunched-up? Then, going to spots and setting? You can use those things. If you remember that the other teams are your teachers, too. Learn from them. Not just from yourselves. It will help make a quicker transition for your game. -Mike

Opponents are not going to let Clark score 20 pts and that’s how it will be so she must change her toughness and grow muscles and change strategy! Maybe do baseline 3’s as nobody tries to stop those! Other teams sink many of those! In HS I became the expert of those for that reason! I was not challenged and could throw them in easily when most girls could not! She has to grow muscles and get better strategy and keep dribbling till a pass is there as stopping to pass is not an option in this league! She is learning bad lessons! Someday she will get there … in 3 years! I plan to bd patient and keep watching and waiting till she figures herself out! It’s not so much the coach as it is a poor street ball team with zero talent! Nobody can shoot 3 pointers! All other teams are sinking like 28 of those a game! I watch every game and can see why Indiana is at bottom of the league! They have 3 players with 8 years in the league who are usually on bench! Unreal!

Hey Scott, I have a question for you about Erica Wheeler. She befriended CC immediately. I even remember her dancing at the party when CC was drafted. Found it strange last night that EW pretty much ignored her on the offensive end. Heard another KZfaqr say she is using CC for IG clout. She is increasing her followers by befriending. I guess this could also not make some of her followers happy. Have you heard any of this. Or are you in the inside of the Fever and just do not want to hurt your status. Which is fine also. It is your employment after all.

She would only feed the post or throw it to the opposite side. I want to see Celeste Taylor more. She is in basketball shape and willing to run the court for CC. The rest of the players are either not in shape or do not want to run. AB cannot make it to her spots. She acts like this is a totally different offense and has not figured it out. She cannot run or jump. Every shot of hers is either blocked or readjusted.
