Excellent changes that will be the best kayak on the market today they are huge fish your catching have you made a video on the fishfinder sunscreen cover I would love to make one like yours

Good review, Laurie. Those changes are the exact things I don't like about my older model, especially the small hatch. The new bow design should be quieter running too, eh?

Great review. Just wondering whether the new profish 400 rides better than the old one in normal calm conditions say on a lake without waves or does the pronounced flare in the bow impede it?

I haven’t spent enough time on the old 400 to comment but the new bow doesn’t impede it at all in flat conditions 👍

I made the battery housing myself, if you watch the end of the “Surfs Up” vid you will see that in more detail 👍

i see you prefer the insulated chill bag as opposed to the chill pod. What's your thoughts on this mate ? I have been considering this option

Corey I prefer to use a cover, for me it’s about reducing weight and the impact of wind. It’s also easier when I’m using a floating measure board. Potential negative is fish juices flow out the scuppers (sharks 😂).

Hey mate I just got the new 400 and the new tacklepod i got with it doesnt fit properly does yours sit properly and go over the lip front and back?

That’s strange, mine fits perfectly. Is it the transducer that’s causing it not to fit snug?

Would you say the new 400 is more stable than the GT ? ,the 400 is the only one with 10/10 stability rating , but no rating for the rest of the models. Also is it much faster than the GT. Can you stand on the new 400 ?

Brett, the 400 is faster and easier to paddle than the GT. I wouldn’t read to much into the stability ratings, both the GT and Espri are very stable on calm days but that changes with wind because of their higher profiles. In my view the 400 feels the most stable and it’s easy to stand up on. In order of stability I’d rate the 400 highest, followed by the Reload, GT then Espri.

@@yakfishfun8441 Thanks for the reply much appreciated , I can't get a reply from Viking site or Viking owners group my post won't get published, no admin activity, yes sounds great and confirms my thoughts already , I will eventually get a Bixby maybe K1 next year
