When a man sings this it sounds like the epic start to an adventure. When she sings it it sounds almost like a painful or regretful foretelling of what is to come or what would come to pass. It reminds me of the opening of Lord of the rings when the story of the rings is being told. It’s awesome. Vikings should use this version for the series finale.

I like the first season of the show really much but I have to say that I'm not such a fan of the "my mother told me" song, all the other themes are awesome but I just cant see what to feel there
