Nicole Coleman, I've thought a lot about Ivar's ability to fight and survive on the battlefield, and I know he's a good fighter and very strong, but he needs someone to literally watch his back, because he's not as mobile as normal warriors. Ideally, his brothers would fill that role. I don't mean they have to stay at his side or right behind him, but they're around in case his horse falls, or that chariot we see him driving in various clips flips over. Anything can happen in a battle situation, and tough and smart as he is, Ivar needs extra help. Anyone COULD help, but sometimes family are the only ones who WILL. I hope they DO stick together because their parents are gone, and ideally, out of love for each other. Also, I think Sigurd had a lot of jealousy about their mom's favoritism towards Ivar; maybe they can put that in the past now. Sorry to ramble on; I think about this show way too much! 😅

+Sherri Smith - There's a few theories when it comes to how Ivar may have fought (if he ever fought, and if he was *actually* 'boneless') - one is that he would have been carried into battle on a shield, and use a bow - this is probably something that will happen on the TV series, as it was slightly foreshadowed in the scene with Ivar, Ubbe, and Sigurd training (when Ivar shoots an almost-perfect shot). Even if he does not actually fight, I'm sure he'll make a great tactician and general. People will always underestimate him as 'the cripple' - and that will be his greatest strength.

Sherri Smith He is obviously jealous of Aslaug and Ivars relationship but also he went through some stuff as a kid. Saw harbard with his mom,Saw Siggy drown,Saw his niece little Siggy die and when he told his Mother about it she and Ivar laughed and said Who cares. OH also Ivar killed another kid,i say he got alot of reasons to hate Ivar and Ivar is fucked up. I think both Sigurd and Ivar are bitches but at least they are well written characters. And i think they will grow on me

They were all pretty hard core in real life. When Sigurd got to know about his father's death, he cut himself bone deep and Bjorn grabbed a spear so tightly that his hand marks got imprinted on it. The vikings were a ruthless bunch.

Well if you know history, Ivar will not deal with Wessex. He would be more involved with Mercia, Northumbria and East Anglia Kingdoms. Ubba and Guthrum would face off with Alfred the great where he would be triumphant. Ecbert should die quite soon and Aethelwulf will takeover. It is expected that Aethelwulf will die in battle sometime later in the next seasons and Alfred the Great will takeover and defend the Saxon kingdom

Ed Harley They took some artistic liberties with the series. Instead of Bjorn squeezing the wood they let Ivar do it. Just like how they made Ivar limp AND impotent, historians can't determine whether Ivar was actually boneless or if he couldn't get it up, so the show thought "lets do both!". They do that kind of thing pretty creatively throughout the show,.

With Auslaug she would have potential enemies, she now has half of the army and 4 of Ragnar's sons against her. I'm a woman and I know how it feels taking back what you supposed was yours. If aything I relate to Lagertha in this show more than any of the characters. But if you want to claim a land, you should have strategies beyond taking revenge from those who you are openly angry with.

Right? The rip roaring fire, the creaking of wood, the howling of the wind. Really allows the characters and the moment to feel totally central, that nothing else in the world is even in sight to these brothers except the chain of events they're locked into right now.

natscrest97 probably and I'd also bet it's bc according to Ragnar and Rollo they believed that they were descendants of Odin and whether that's true or not Ragnar was a very successful Viking and changed the game so to speak for the Viking culture and his sons are gonna do the some incredible shit as well so you can bet that their God Odin will occasionally see how things play out every once in a while behind the shadows. That's my guess at least. And for everyone saying certain things didn't happen in history so it can't play out in the show your Wrong. Ragnar and Rollo weren't brothers in history but they are in the show. So certain things the show has to make happen but some can change and I can definitely see all of Ragnar's sons raiding Northumbria and Wessex together to exact revenge for their fathers death even though they really only raided Northumbria with their Great Raid according to history. The fact is we never know.

Yea I'm kinda confused with that too.. is Odin a real person in the show? And why show up now. But I was kinda expecting some spiritual stuff for his death episode... like him standing in front of the doors of Valhalla and it opens with shadows of past warriors in the distance.

Yeah, I have been wondering about that too. They went out their way to make him look old, like 20 years had passed. But Lagertha never aged a day?! (Women usually age faster then men.) It makes no sense in the story, except the writer is going politically correct and feminist.
