Superb writing; however Travis Fimmel's performance in the scene was awe-inspiring. One of the best examples of an actor truly becoming the character. He drives each word home emphatically with the pain and emotion behind his eyes. Ragnar accepts his fate and embraces death knowing that he will be avenged. Breathtaking video! Fantastic editing.

God I can’t put into words how much I love this character. I literally cried the whole time. Ragnar WAS the show. He was „Vikings“. Sadly, after his death the show went downhill…

travis fimmel can tell so much with his beautifull eyes , Ragnar was the perfect role for him and i liked every single second of his performance. Without him the show wouldve been ruined but he made his stort made it so great and i cant wait for the journey after him but man i already miss him. Travis Fimmel was absolutely perfect as ragnar. No one could come close to even half of what travis did with this character. He made viewers emotionally invested in the charcter to a point where people legitimately cried like babies as they watched this person they came to love literally like family be tortured and executed, and made them hurt for days after his death in the show. I have a friend who cried more and was more distraught after ragnars death than her grandmothers. (Granted she wasnt close with her grandma but still) if that isnt enough to display how truly amazing travis did with this character than i dont know what could. No character or actor in the history of film as ever made their fans feel what travis made the audience feel about ragnar. You knew he was a character on a tv show, but you loved him like he were real. And That is the goal all actors hope to achieve and travis did it and then some.

These were the greatest series that ever appeared on TV!!! After the loss of Ragnar, the series just doesn't have the same punching powers as it did before. Ragnar or Fimell can never be replaced and enjoyed the same!!!
