Good morning and thank you. I heard about this problem years ago and I was going to do "something" on my 15 Tacoma but I never did. Came across this video the other day and decided I was going to take care of it on my 22 4runner. Ordered the plastic 3/8th barb couplings and new push clips, (cause whenever I take them out one of them seems to break). Got the 3/8 ID hose at Advanced auto. I started with a 12" piece and ended up cutting about an inch off AFTER install ( so about an 11' piece). I wanted to make sure it cleared the frame. It's tucked in just like you have it with about a 1/4" hanging past the frame. It looks factory. I did happen to watch a bunch of other video's of people doing it their way. This is by far the BEST way I found. Neat, Simple AND I can keep a visual on it from time to time to make sure the drain hasn't clogged.
@VikingsGarage

Absolutely, the fact that it’s visual is one of the reasons why I routed that way (not to mention through the inside, your dealing with exhaust heat) Thank you for sharing + I’m glad you got it done!! Safe travels!! 🤘🏻

Hey VIking, I've been a subscriber for awhile now and really like the videos. Also envious of the green OR 4Runner! Mine is a 2015 Limited. I took a look at my AC drain line and sure enough it dumps right on the frame. I went ahead and did the mod, but interestingly I have no rust on the frame in that location or anywhere else for that matter. Oh well, I plan to keep it forever so it's good cheap insurance. I'm sure my frame is rust free because of where we live (west Texas). It is very dry and we rarely ever get any snow. If I move to a more humid climate, I'll probably go ahead and get the LINE-X undercoat put on. Back to your channel though, it's all good information and I check out your videos before I try anything new!

@@VikingsGarage Thank you! I'll be taking advantage of a lot of your tips tricks and mods. Question: Why do so many lift options exclude the TRD Pro? Don't all the trims share the same basic chassis, shock mounts, etc. not including the fox shocks? I'm not anxious to lift my truck, but I might want the option down the line. I might settle for slightly larger tires.

Crazy Toyota hasn't addressed this. How many other small easy fixes have they looked over? Never would have associated this kind of slackness from the big T. I just bought a '23 GX460 and it sufferers from the KDSS lean, another issue Toyota has just ignored over the years. Crazy they would allow all these KDSS vehicles to drive around leaning. Either with pressure air blown into it, or use a snake tool. A flexible smaller coat hanger works too.

@@VikingsGarage were exactly is the other end of the hose? Am I able to take blower motor out or something inside and find the other end to clean it out?
@VikingsGarage
@VikingsGarage Ай бұрын
@danielfurr5409 the other end is under the passenger side carpet, connected to the bottom of your a/c air box.

@@VikingsGarage it worked. I pulled the tube completely into the 4runner.. hooked up the air nozzle...and could hear the water bubbling when blew air in. Pulled nozzle out and a freaking quart of water came gushing out..lol

While this mod works well, I can't stress the importance of keeping the line free and clear. With the new hose, it's more likely to suck in water then it was before. If you don't get a lot of rain it won't be a problem.

@@VikingsGaragedid it today. Hit advanced and got a 3/8” heater hose 12” and a 3/8 barbed coupler and added two hose clamps. Then I ran it the same route you took through the bottom of the splash skirt and then I cut off probably 4” and then another 2” and that leaves it to the bottom of the frame. Probably didn’t need the two clamps but 🤷‍♂️ wth right.

I have a question and it might be the dumbest one you ever got. With the way that manufacturers and dealerships like to decline warranty repairs. Would this void your factory and extended warranty. Also for rain guards on your doors and cat shields. Sorry to bother you about this but you can give the most accurate answer since you work in service at the dealership. Thanks in advance and have a good weekend.

None of the ones you mention affect the vehicles performance or functionality… so they won’t void your warranty.
