@@ezehrichard4200domestic overscoring is a trend everywhere, and there were certainly some generous scores at the US Champs. Not sure who went over fifteen with an OOB though? That being said, the Russians actually do have a separate code of points that they use to judge their international competitions. That’s what I was referring to. And I haven’t seen ANY domestic score as egregious as giving someone a 12.800 under the regular 2022-2024 CoP with two falls on beam.

Yes I agree. I really prefer the hair in a bun like a ballerina. It's exciting to watch a toothpick body type do difficult skills, because it's much less believable than seeing someone with a more muscular body type doing it. I can't help but wonder if they're getting good enough nutrition and water to make it through a multi-day 4 event competition, now we know the Russian figure skaters are not allowed food or water, but only drink vitamin shakes laced with performance enhancing drugs. No matter though because we've all enjoyed the multiple falls and short landings due to lack of endurance, so they clearly can't have had any drugs within the last few days prior to competition.

LIES!! The US Champs were actually very strict which has been the criticism.

@@chimao215 eh! I think some scores were stricter than others and that’s an issue in itself, but overall the scoring was far better than it has been in the past for US domestic competitions.

I guess the judges were on a mission to allow her to stay at the competition longer

@@simonheinsen5418 I watched all the competition. Despite the mistakes, she has the highest difficulty on the balance beam, floor, bars, vault and the best performance. Other gymnasts are much worse but Melnikova

But it still needs to be fair judging, and beam score with two falls, multiple balance checks and bad form in some of her elements, her score should be no near 12.8. I really like her gymnastics! She got the elegance that many of the top US gymnasts is missing, so I'm not hating on her. IMO it's just that 12.8 is not a reliable score.

Hard to tell if it’s the composition, or just lack of opportunity to compete and repetitions. But generally speaking, I agree, they should change it or water down a bit.

All the scores were generous.

Literally every single one of her scores are inflated. US Nationals scoring was FAR more realistic. It’s good to know that American gymnastics lives in your head rent free.

Russian domestic scoring is a joke. The top 3 get 14s by default across the board. Sux for them because it creates unrealistic expectations

@@felityf1Listy will never make it because she’s been at pro war rally’s pushing the Ukraine invasion and the FIG ruled that only neutral athletes (who haven’t supported the illegal invasion) can compete in FIG comps. Russia will probably just do another “friendship games” ala 1984.

I mean if you look at her nationals performance from March her level was very high. Obviously this performance wouldn’t challenge anyone

Oh my, again throwing those comments like “this wouldn’t even make it top 5 in the USA” reminds me of “USA could send their B team and still win gold”, and we all know how that went at these Olympics Of course her performance here was pretty shaky, but you can’t deny that she could easily be in the top three in the all around at the world level, she could easily over take the second place in the USA with difficulty alone, Andrade might be a bit harder to beat and Biles is out of the question, but the fact that you reduce every other gymnast who isn’t American to a bad performance just speaks volumes on how xenophobic you are.

She can challenge Andrade and Jones when she's consistent. She's usually very consistent on bars, vault and floor. But needs to take out arabian on beam for sure.

she would be top 3 in the US, but lets not lie now only cause this qualification was a mess, she was already better than all american gymnasts apart from Suni and Simone for qualifications in Tokyo and she had much less difficulty back then

And yes I'm joking as they were all grossly overscored. Perhaps trying to motivate them?
