In the Upper Valley of Río Negro, the city of Villa Regina is located, to which we owe many of the pears and apples that we consume. A beautiful city on the banks of the Río Negro, surrounded by plateaus ideal for hiking.
This city participates in the longest rafting competition in the world as one of the stages of the activity, which takes place on the Río Negro. It is also linked to the wine-growing activity, in addition to the fruit and vegetable industry.
The name of the town is linked to the then President Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear, who in 1925 authorized the project presented by Felipe Bonoli in 1924, its founder, for an Italian-Argentine Colony. Then, in honor of the aforementioned President's wife, Regina Paccini, she adopted the name as she is known, although she is also called the Pearl of the Valley.
