I was with some Danish friends once to go to Græsted Kro to eat stegt ål. As we were driving there (from Gilleleje), I asked: "What kind of town is Græsted?" My friend's father tried to respond but his English wasn't the best. He said: "It's a town with two hookahs and a pocket chief." I didn't know what he was trying to say, but my friend started laughing. He told me his father was trying to translate the Danish: "To ludere og en lommetyv." (Two hookers and a pickpocket] In other words, a small town.
