I just ordered it. I have a bunch of Fuji lenses - some good, most so-so. A month ago I bought the viltrox 75/1.2 and so far have been refusing to take it off my camera (fuji xh2). The pics it produces are all just perfect. It makes every pic look ....pro. Then I found out there's another PRO lens and it's a 27/1.2!! Ordered it straight away and now getting rid of four of my fuji lenses (16-80/4.0, 23/1.4, viltrox 33, 50-140/2.8) as between the two pro lenses I will still be able to get the shot ranges I want.

Yep - I just can’t remove it from my camera. Solid in every respect and beautiful image quality. Like you, I am really getting to like the 40mm field of view as it seems to fit with my vision perfectly.

Great review! I actually decided to do a similar combo of this lens and 27mm pancake (ttartisan, to save $$), since I too really like the 40mm equiv. focal length. Glad to hear I wasn't crazy for thinking that would be a good idea!

Thanks! I actually like the ttartisan more then the fuji,. the fuji is kind of clinical and boring. The fuji got quite nice when my uv filter got dirty though 😂

@@Kim_Alexander I'm on sony e-mount, so didn't have the fuji option even if I'd wanted it, but I have been extremely impressed with the ttartisan. Surprisingly fast af, good build quality, acceptably sharp, and it definitely has some nice character. Any time I am traveling to another city, it's the only lens I bring with me.

@@alexeipg cool I got an old nex7 that I might review here but at the moment I just have vintage glas to it. havent decided what I should pick up to it or even if I'm going to review it. I have already made review of the the Ttartisan 27mm so don't makes much sense to buy it to and old. Sony that I will get rid of eventually

Was hoping you’d review this one! Thanks! Definetely apprciated your perspective on it! Ever since I had the Panasonic 20mm 1.7 I’ve always felt like 40mm equiv was the perfect field of view (my EDC these days involved the Voigtlander 27mm f2). A friend let me borrow his Viltrox 27mm a few days and I must admit I’m very tempted! I do have a few questions though: - Many have often said Viltrox struggles with loss of contrast with flares (incl. this one), but not a big problem for you in practice? - Is it easy to match the rendering to other Fuji lenses in terms of contrast/color? Espescially interested in how it compares to their faster primes, as I think it could pair well alongside XF 18mm f1.4 and XF56mm f1.2 WR.

Thanks for your comment! I had that Lumix 20mm lens for my GM1, and I hope to get my hands on a GM5 eventually with the same lens. My journey with the 40mm field of view got a rough start with the Fuji 27mm. I bought it new and sold it off after just a week. Later, I bought the TTArtisan for a trip and fell in love with the field of view. It took some time to get used to, but now it resonates very well with me. So much so that I have a video about the focal length on my to-do list. Since then, I bought the Fuji 27mm again and kind of came to like it, mostly for its weather resistance. But I think it's slightly sterile and the TTArtisan renders a more interesting image. When I was done with this review, I realised that I didn't say much about flaring. But that's mostly because I didn't have any issues nor found any creatively nice flares from it, though the latter might exist. The only situation where I had multiple lenses on a shoot was on a job for a client with mixed light, flash, and daylight. I delivered some 35mm f2 or even 50mm f2 images and some images made with the 27mm. I didn't think about any specific differences in colors or such when editing those images. That pro badge truly means something; it's a lens that doesn't give you any issues.

the 23 is good but the 27 is in a completely new leauge. The 27 is high end level gear the 23 is not. I made a video about the 23 as well. It's I lens that I like. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kK5ldLae37q4cWQ.htmlsi=R3OIp0zKM0XdMWV7

I definitely think this is a lens.I need to consider I do somebody's in other events and I find he 35 is too tight and the 23 Is just not long enough, so this would be perfect.Especially for indoor venues having the one point two

27mm is surprisingly versetile, and faces looks great to. Personally when I use a 23 i sometimes struggle to capture some wider screens on the street to a degree where I would have to crop. Mostly since I get discoverd when I'm close enough. 27mm just fills that gap so well. When Im disoverd I ofen end up talking with some person witch eventually leads up a portrait. Witch again give the precence of a wide lens - yet slightly more balanced lens then a wider. I'm have an upcoming video idea tackling about why 27mm or 40 is the true nifty fifthy.

Yeah, fuck, I sold mine a couple of days ago. I came by a super cheap 56mm f/1.2 R WR for about 560€ and I couldnt pass that offer like wtf?! The Viltrox is absolutely insane. Even wide open this fucker is sharp and beautiful! They really did an outstanding job with this lens and it is insane what Viltrox pulled off for THAT price! 10/10.
@Kim_Alexander
@Kim_Alexander Ай бұрын
I kind of want to say poor you! But trading one good lens for another good lens is okay, especially for that price! I hope Viltrox will release more 1.2 lenses with the same pro badge. A 50mm or 56mm would make sense. But it's also fun that they do their own thing. Perhaps we will see a 40mm f1.2. What they are doing with this lenses and the price is some next gen stuffs!

Har vart sugen på denna lins ett tag man borde väl köpa sig ett ex😉har en xt4 men det borde väl funka bra till den oxå? Har Sony A1 med massa GM objektiv men ska va ärlig tycker det är roligare med Fuji
@Kim_Alexander

Thank goodness for no brickwall and charts ..that's not great way to test a lens imo
@Kim_Alexander
@Kim_Alexander Ай бұрын
Absolutely, I agree! Brick walls and charts are great if you're secretly training to be an architect or aiming to become the next wallpaper mogul, but for photography? Not so much! I’d rather see how a lens handles real-life chaos. Personally, I also blame those brick walls for all the hilariously oversized lenses we have to pair with our tiny mirrorless bodies. The irony is just too much! 😂📸

At that size you might as well get a full frame 1.8 lens and profit from the gains in dynamic range, ISO performance and resolution, without lugging around more.

I am not into Chinese made lenses. Therefore it is an automatic fail for me. 7 Years ago, I imported speedboaster lenses from China. The quality was not there. Screws fell into the light box and ripped the shutter apart. Great!! I could not claim any compensation from China. Since then I keep my hands off Chinese gear, regardless the content of your review.

@@oliverlison made in Japan and Thailand. Nowdays it's hard not to get mad in china. I se different areas of made in China. Let's focus on 3. 1. Manufacturing moving to China to be able to produce. ore like fuji x100vi an seen cameras where the color already worn of that never happens to my made in Japan x100v 2. Chinese premium brand like high end Dji products, and Viltrox lenses, So fa my experience with this company's the support and the people have been spot on., much better than many other companies. 3. Cheep knockoff or budget option. Let's just say that you often gets what you pay for.
