I remember catching his first indies match against Zack Sabre, Jr. This was for Evolve and was in Joppa, MD. Inside of a literal flea market. And I saw him in there with the absolute flyest suit I had ever seen at the time, and I thought to myself, "This man IS NOT playing." To see what he did with ROH, NJPW and AEW...I can't remember the last time betting on one self became that successful and full circle. He was a nice guy then and seems like a nice guy now. I have always been a fan of Cody, but there are few in the business I have come to respect more. I am very happy for him.

Very obvious Bruce Pritchard or Triple H campaigned hard for Cody. They probably only let Vince watch the good aspect of Cody in AEW. I learned one thing from interviews, it's all about making someone appear as a moneymaker in Vince's eyes. Or just having the right look like The Undertaker or Roman Reigns.

That's how most CEOs do business, they would just have dinner or coffee with someone and shook hands in the last few minutes. They don't care about boring business talks, what's important is that they click with the other party. Most people who do "proper" business meetings are usually non-management people or third party vendors

Thank you for saying that. For anybody to say that he's up there with those guys is incredibly misinformed. I was going to say incredibly stupid but that wouldn't be nice. He's not even close. Not even in the same Arena
@DB-jd9ht8 ай бұрын
Cody did more than any single 1 of them. Cody put on his own ppv out of pocket in All In. Broke records that hasn't been done since Vince Kennedy McMahon 1st did it when he bought wwf. He also helped create AEW. Not 1 other wrestler on that list above can say they did that. Titles don't mean everything, notice Cena not on that list but he actually should be just for all the make a wishes he has done. But argue that point what other wrestler put on their own sell out Ppv in an arena or for an entire promotion running from the ground up.
@2003oohlale8 ай бұрын
Bro stop..... first off Undertaker is the most special creation of a wrestling character. When you consider especially the longevity then you've got Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan changed the wrestling industry. He was the one that started to venture out into Hollywood and into entertainment that allowed all the other wrestlers to do that. Then you've got Ric Flair the greatest of all time. He essentially carried NWA and WCW on his back and made them a household name. Then you have Stone Cold Steve Austin who single-handedly his character help carry WWF pass WCW. If he had been at WCW at Stone Cold Steve Austin then WCW would have won. Then you've got Shawn Michaels who's Mr WrestleMania. You're talking about the greatest single pay-per-view invention of all time don't get bigger than WrestleMania. WrestleMania is a spectacle and Shawn Michaels is at the top of it terms of performers Macho Man Randy Savage he was the ultimate complete wrestler. When you're talking about in the ring outside of it doing promos he was a wrestling genius. His character Cody Rhodes cannot touch that. And you can't deny that Cody Rhodes does not have the Flair or what could ever become the Enigma that is Macho Man Randy Savage. He'll never capture the audience the way that he could I just don't see it I'm not saying Cody is not a very good wrestler but I don't see him ever becoming a great wrestler. I can't put him in the categories with those wrestlers the goat or should I say one of the greatest of all time. I could even put Hall and Nash above Cody Rhodes because they changed the way wrestlers get paid today. In terms of bringing in guaranteed money in contracts it had never been done before. And then Scott Hall came up with the idea of the crow gimmick for sting. That idea catapulted sting career to another level. I may be wrong but I'll let other people decide that.
@DB-jd9ht8 ай бұрын
@@2003oohlale if they read it all. I'm saying they all were given their gimmicks. Cody broke mould and did it himself. Not 1 of them you named hosted their own ppv or help create an entire promotion. All I'm saying.
