Really halfway answer for how this all works: If I showed you two random pictures and asked you which one looked "most like Mario", you'd pick one based on... mario-ish features? You probably can't exactly explain it, but you'd be able to pick a "more-Mario-like image" most of the time if I gave you two random pictures. Like, it's red, or has a mushroom in it, or bricks maybe? A neural network's training teaches it what "mario-ish" means, though it can't really explain what that means either. But if you show it two images, it can pick the "more mario-like one". And then you can take that one and make ten more variations on it, and ask which one is most mario-like. Do that a million times and you get magic. It's also why it generates things that are so cursed.

I've prompted Raiden from Metal Gear in McDonald's on Craiyon (DALL-E Mini) and I wasn't disappointed By the way, while DALL-E is often more commercially acceptable and cleaner, Craiyon isn't as preventing on what it tries to generate to you. Or in other words, DALL-E refuses to draw for example Disney's Mickey Mouse torturing John Lennon without butchering the style of the intellectual property, altering the context if it's unsafe and trying to figure out how the person looks by the information alone and not replicate the well known individual by the information. There are some cracks with the generation under the policy but Craiyon doesn't even care and tries to form it somewhat close to the well known ones but often resulting in messed up faces of real life people if they don't have a lot of multidirectional photographs and wrong results if the prompt contents are obscure enough

Alright I have a confession to make. The part at 1:33:44 is literally the hardest I've laughed in my entire life. The second picture of a man so aggressively excited about a literal hand from the heavens carrying a chippy into his mouth made me fucking scream laughing, like actually laugh and scream at the same time. It got so bad that my mom ran into my room asking if I was alright. At that point I was actually terrified for my life because my lungs felt like they shriveled into raisins and my ribs were about to puncture my insides. I thought I would have a brain hemorrhage because this unnatural wave of warmth washed over my brain as I tried to recover myself from my chair that I was, for the lack of a better word, splattered across. It's legitimately hard to make me laugh but this video fucking did it, it unlocked every unrealized laugh that had been building up inside the cavity of my body my whole life and made them tear me up like a torrent.
