17:45 is where it all gets real. My theory is that the show recruits prisoners for lucrative acting contracts. They probably have to do an audition, and as long as they scream and run around dramatically (big points for crying), maybe read a few lines, they end up with other random inmates on Maury. Otherwise, they might as well be Oblivion NPCs cut from the official release.

This show is always a great example of why we need to take this education more seriously in America.
