I think there's just this weird comfort niche of people who love coming to watch Vinny as their "comfort streamer" and people who love watching old nostalgic material from their childhoods that the segment probably feels like "watching old fun commercials with a friend on the couch that you both haven't seen in a long time"

I think it's justified, it was really arrogant and abrasive marketing and was in many ways the start of the stupid console/platform wars nonsense that fanboys are still screaming and being douches about all these decades later. In many ways I like SEGA and I'm a fan of several of their series but I'll always be bitter over the fact that that marketing stunt led to decades of elitism and toxicity from fans of companies. It sure was successful but the lasting effect to this day is still on the list of SEGA's biggest offences.

One of the reasons I adore watching old commercials is that it's a great way to engage with the culture and attitude of the era in a tighter vacuum, whether it's the stuff that was going around when I was in grade school or things from even before that. A lot of media revists to these eras tend to get alienating at times, with all sorts of unchecked -phobias or just general discomfort, but commercials tend to really sanitize these views while retaining the aesthetic. The bad vibes are still there, but sometimes, there's something cozy about a weird jingle, or a silly costume, or a bunch of actors dressed as Pikmin ready to assault New York for a singular hot dog.

Whenever there’s old advertisements and commercials you can always count on Vinny to show them off, react to them, analyze them and create the silliest KZfaq Poops with them. These Classic Game Commercials have a certain charm to them which makes them feel special in a way.

Oh god, that abadox game looked super familiar. One of the first games I think I ever beat was that game on a bootleg red n64 controller that had that had like 70k nes games (that were like a thousand of the same game each) and it was just titled "superman"

IIRC, Blinx the Cat isn't even owned by anyone anymore. Microsoft let the Copyright lapse instead of renewing it. The public could literally make its own Blinx game now.

I'm sure it's been said, but the Us and Os on words are because the English words are being recreated, usually in Hiragana, and to form the English word extra syllables get added. It's fun when a game in Japanese shares the English title, you get stuff like "Bureiburī Deforuto: Furaingu Fearī".
