Had so much fun playing this game with my friends around 1970-1973, then switched to Strat-O-Matic. Wish I had the players stats I used to keep. Great to see the whole game setup again. Loads of fun memories.

I got one these back in the 80's and I still have it , I'm gonna have to take it out and take trip down memory lane one these days , thought the player disks are from players from the 70's and 80's it's still a fun game to play on a rainy when you're bored and can't play with your video games if it's storming . Thanks for posting this ! :-)

loved this game growing up! My dad actually did this with APBA long before this game existed. And later Pursue the Pennant came along.

Played this game on many a rainy summer day. Not sure which version I played, but it had players like bobby grich, Jeremy remy, & Gorman Thomas as some surely version-specific guys.

Nice! I had completely forgotten I had this game. Recognized the graphics immediately. I think my parents bought me this at Benny's in Raynham Mass summer of 1970. This 9 year old had so much fun playing this unit I graduated to Statis Pro Baseball a couple of years later.

I have several of these games. I have one from the late 70's, 1989, and one from the mid 2000s. You can buy some of these games on Ebay. Plus, there is a fellow out there that makes these discs and are available for sale. He has many players and teams. The good thing about his disks is that they have the player's lifetime stats on them so it is easier to determine your lineup.

I made many disks myself from the stats in MacMillan's Baseball Encyclopedia. I figured out the percentages of each type of hit & base on balls & converted them to arcs of the 360 degrees of the circle.

My neighborhood was led by 4 baseball freaks. (Think the Sandlot) we had some great players and summer as multiple it real games , wiffleball and finally All Star Baseball !! We hadleagues amd kep ste stats and boxscores for all !! For Cadeco All star baseball we drafted 4 teams and player 81 game seasons. I had the pirates (all Pirates of former Buccos we on My team, then we filled out or 20 batter roster. Add 12 pitchers in our draft) later we found you could order nearly whole seasons and we all would play 162 games full seasons for our actual teams. Getting together for games bereeen our teams . The other ganes where honor rule games we could play alone. The g a mes we got together for were Pittsburgh Cleveland The Yankees and the Reds. Great times. These games were from like 73 to 80 then off to Collegethought i still played on my own duribg summer throughout college. And yes i kept playing competitive basball and later softball throughout college and then as a grown ass man till i was 47. Hahaha

I am going to buy this game for my grandson who is 6. I want to teach him how to play baseball. I grew up with Pennant Race by Sports Illustrated, but this was from that era too. Now, I am into Strat-O-Matic baseball and basketball...

@TheAcarch2 It's the best! My dad bought this used in the '80s, with upgraded player-discs. I've lost most of the pieces.

My best friend Tony Curtis( No not the actor) and I played this game for years if we weren't playing on the field we were playing on this game. It was an awesome game, there is no way to factor in the pitcher but we didn't care about stinking pitchers anyway! Lol Great game for offense heads Ruth hit at least 1 HR a game. The other game we loved was Quarterback football, where you could pick your QB and each select a play that used a little light for the results on the field. The screen would pretty much always work heh.I am back playing strat again and what else doing a greatest team ever tournament.

Would you happen to know the name of that football game? I thought it was called Quarterback but all I found on that is a hand held game that I also have still. But this game looked like a plastic stadium, came out sometime in the Early 70's maybe late 60's and 2 people would play, the offense would pick a play out of 20 or so and the defender would pick a play and 2 arms under the field would intersect and the result would light up, like -4 yards, gain 20 like that. It had a dial on the scoreboard with famous QB's of that era on it, like Bart Starr, Roman Gabriel, Fran Tarkington, My fav Roger the Dodger Staubach, Darrel Lamonica, Jumpin Joe Capp Johnny Unitas, Sonny Jergenson etc. Can you recall that game and it's name? I am looking for it.

I has a version of this game when it was just 8 hitting results : 1-4 were hits 5,6 were fielding outs 7,8 were walks and strikeouts...i remember ralph garr has a ton of hits...could mine been from 1974?

Very nice video of a decent game. But I prefer the more detailed, more individualized data of Strat-O-Matic baseball. Thanks again. ;)

This is the game that led to a lot of sabremetricians getting interested in chance percentages. Of course, the pitching percentages in other games made this one obsolete.

I remember Nate Colbert's disc as being full of nothing but 1s and 10s....mostly 10s.
@GregJay7 жыл бұрын
Ah Nate Colbert Allstar 1st baseman for San Diago then went free agent, after an all-star type of year. When he got to Detroit he hit a whopping .188 and was the biggest disappoint signing in Tigers history, even ahead of Dean Palmer and Ray Knight and Juan Gone. LOL They had to give up somebody big too in Tiger land just can't remember who it was. Funny I am playing the Tigers of 1968 on strat-o-matic right now in a best of the best tourney. So much fun. You reminded me of that dismal year for the Tigers with Nate Fn Colbert.Check out a game on my page if you like nostalgic games. If not then no worries just thought a game buff might find it interesting.

Joe Morgan walked not a hit number 9 lol. Me and my brother who was 4 years older would get this game from like 1970 to 1977 and we would write a letter to the company telling them we DID NOT get any of the score sheets and of course we did but they would always send us any parts we claimed we didn't get- I loved this game and played it by myself and kept all the games in a note book i still have liked it better then STRAT O MADIK
@1959thDrWho12 жыл бұрын
You have a 1970 version...just to let you know.
@doctorstork7 жыл бұрын
One minor correction. Joe Morgan did the Hit and Run play so he was out and you should have removed his disk.
