Very iconic British vacuum. You can't beat an old Electrolux from that era. Shame they went downhill in the 90s.

I am not a vacuum enthusiast. But I do love watching other people enjoy the small things. I enjoy vacuum cleaners and washers that work well, without any hoopla. This is a feet today, because they keep fixing things. This fixing is making aplliances more persnickety. This is a fine machine

Just watched this video, it has brought back many memories of the 1970’s for me as a 10 year old seeing these Electrolux 504’s for sale in department stores along with the 502. I remember my next door neighbour having one too. Like yourself I have always had a great interest in vacuum cleaners and have a few retro ones too. I’m jealous of your 504 as the one I have is not so smart as the immaculate example you have. Well done for getting hold of a gem which will probably become a valuable item in the future!

My mum had one of these, I use to change the belt and filter and my gran had the 506 with electronic motor speed dial that was so exciting by comparison. Hoover beets as it sweeps as it cleans.Electrolux beats the hell out of the carpet.Brilliant.

Lovely machine. Is it a clean fan? I wold have thought it was a dirty fan but instead of the fan there is a hose.

My mother and nan both had one of these, must have been about 1980. Remember having to lift your legs while she pushed the bloody noisy thing round the lounge as i was watching the hot women on the fall guy.lol.
