This is a great conversation. Thank you guys. I got my first well made bible from a discount shelf at my local Mardel’s. I bought a Cambridge wide margin concord, still in the classic book shelf box. No one wanted this gem, and I bought it for $9.75. Since then, I have a church bible, an Oxford USA Scofield, large print. My latest friend is a Cambridge concord I won ( blessed by Pastor Brett). I’m not KJV only, I have numerous calfskin Thompson chain bibles. But, the surprising thing is many of these gems can be had on sale for silly low prices if you’re patient. I got my Bible collection bug by my Dad. He has a Geneva bible that came on the Mayflower by a direct descendent of my Dad’s family.

I have this same Bible {Oxford Teachers}. It is a great tool, but the text is too small. Royal Ruby text is always hard to read for me. I do not have that nice pocket in front, but the full yapp is great. Thanks for the video. God's best to you both, in Jesus name.

I have the pronouncing edition of the complete concordance Bible, created by the united states centennial commission. It's inlaid in gold throughout the entire book. All of the drawings in it are inlaid in gold too. It's truly a beautiful work of art. It's from the 1870s. And I'm trying to find a buyer. Current value is around $7000-10,000. Each picture from within the book can easily be sold for $200 each, because of the gold inlays and because of the artist work is just amazing, however to destroy that book like that for money is just dumb, so I'm trying to sell it to a collector who will care for it properly. If interested in it, let me know I can email you lots and lots of photos and you can come see it or whatever. Thank you for sharing this information with everyone!

I love the old Bibles. I am wondering about the smell. I often find that old books don’t agree with me and my allergies. Can you “freshen up” an old book such as these?

I have a Lewis Bible from Vermont. That item is no longer made...I got that in 2008. USA 2014.

I grew up around a lot of Maynards and never heard it pronounced May-Nard. They always said "Maynerd". Great video though.

As someone who thoroughly seeks out very old, historical items, it's frustrating these men don't know the definition differences between vintage and antique. Antique is 100+ years. Vintage is younger than 100 years. These are antique bibles, not vintage. It's small facts, but all knowledge should be properly taught.
