I took the lasonic 975 jumbo boom box and modified it.I restore the cassette player and put in a ten equalizer with red led lights and a amp of 2000 watts and two tweeters of 200 watts and two brand new yellow woofers of a 700 watts each and a 12 volt battery of a ten hours and a Bluetooth and a white light inside the cassette player to tell how much tape level is on.Took me 1 year to finish it.I call it the mothers of all boom boxes.Awsome project 😳. I am from the 65 years and healthy.Thank God for giving me life to see you doing boom boxes too.

Awesome! Very cool projects! One of the most interesting videos I've seen packed full of amazing ideas. This is definitely something I'd like to try. I have some old BlackBerry's that can still stream audio from the web, easy to hook up to speakers and do internet radio streaming or even play MP3's directly off their storage. I have a few speakers (similar to computer speakers) that I'd like to figure out how to power from rechargeable battery packs without having to plug them in (they use a "wall-wart" type AC/DC converter).

You’re awesome, and you made me laugh a couple times too. Thanks for doing this. I just bought a boom box from the 80’s and would love to do your rechargeable battery mod. I also hope to find your video about the Bluetooth amp board as I already know I’d like to get more power and maybe a speaker upgrade. Bought to search your videos to see if you have an in detail video about the Bluetooth amp board, the website link wasn’t working. 🤙🏽

Hey man keep doing what makes you happy. This is so cool. People who write negative comments or put you down don’t even have the courage to attempt this let alone put themselves in front of the world on KZfaq. I remember Kanye West addressing critics in an interview. He said something along the lines of, “if my music is so bad , well let’s see you make something better.” Keep up the great and creative work my friend.

Ok, which Bluetooth you recommend that does not have the amplification to add to a working radio? To use the cassette to activate it like the one you did.

Cool stuff is it possible to put better speakers in a boombox without burning up the amp in it And why do the older radios have the silver cones in the speaker

As far as replacing the speakers, just make sure the impedance of the new speakers match the old ones. So if you to take out 8ohm speakers, make sure to replace with 8 ohm speakers. One thing you might run into is the fact that any replacement speakers will likely be bigger than the old ones and you might have trouble getting the case to fit properly. Not sure about the silver cones. Good luck with your project.

I have a question. I bought a vintage sony boombox Both speakers work when the radio is played. But when tape is played right side only works nothing on the left side. What would make this happen. Also how can it be fixed?

Check the tape head wiring, I fixed the problem by soldering the loose wire

Good work. Good decision to modify that Aztron, I have one like it and it's a POS, mostly empty space inside, and sounds like crap. Also the center "tweeter" is fake.

Thanks! Yeah that Aztron looks legit but that’s def all it had going for it. I just pressed out the fake tweeter and installed a real one. Had to balance out the 6” woofers that I also replaced. It def sounds better now. You should do it to yours!

Which woofer did you connect the tweeter to?

@@80s_Boombox_Collector Connected it to the right woofer with a basic crossover. Driving everything from a Sure brand class D amp board inside. Actually sounds pretty darn good. I tried to seal up the case as best I could which helps.

@@Whynotmake I was wondering if there's a way to connect both channels to the tweeter, so it would blend sound from both. For reducing vibration I highly recommend Rockmat, it's a cheaper version of Dynamat and it's sold on Ebay. I put small strips of it inside speakers that have thin plastic walls. Also, felt tape helps along the edges of the case.

Hello! I bougt a Hitachi 3D80E boombox, i watt to get a better sound of it. Thougt of small chip amplifire to stereo audio module. What is best, What shall i buy and where? Lookt at aliexpress, not ebay yet. Want more base out of it. Heard aboute foam rubber also, cheapest way to do 😂 How shall i get the best sound out of a 80 boombox? Hope someone can helt me? It’s Aztron 36241. It’s like a knock off but from the right generation. I think it was just made to look the part.

I don't think you know the difference between a boombox, ,, and a jam box.. I have a General Electric: 3-5256A ... It's a somewhat small jam box, I bought it because it's exactly like the first jam box I got as a kid for Christmas, only it's silver instead of black.. JCPenney 681-3886, still looking for that one. Everything on the GE: 3-5256A is supposed to work but I have not tested it yet. I'm work shopping the idea of a Milwaukee 12v power tool battery plugged into the 9v DC plug in the back. Problem is there's no information on where the + and - positive and negative needs to be wired up. I think it can handle the 12 volts, but I'm sure if it's wired up wrong it will destroy the jam box.
