Video without waves....
• Vintage hawaiian music...
Vintage Hawaiian music is a beautiful fusion of various influences, including traditional Polynesian melodies, Western harmonies, and even elements from Portuguese and Spanish music. It's characterized by gentle ukulele strumming, melodic steel guitar, rhythmic basslines, and soothing vocal harmonies. The lyrics often celebrate the natural beauty of the Hawaiian islands, love, and the simple joys of life.
As for tourists on the beach, envision a vibrant scene filled with people from all walks of life, drawn to the allure of Hawaii's picturesque shores. You'll see families building sandcastles, couples strolling hand in hand along the shoreline, and groups of friends soaking up the sun. Some might be lounging on colorful beach towels, while others engage in water sports like surfing or paddleboarding. The air is filled with laughter, the scent of sunscreen, and the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore. Amidst it all, there might be a live band playing traditional Hawaiian tunes, adding to the laid-back atmosphere and providing a soundtrack to the tourists' idyllic beach experience.

WDYM? Kids born in 1940? Or 1930? Anyways there's millions and millions, huge number of people born in 1940 still alive. They are barely in their mid 80s. Talking about people born in 1930 their numbers are lower but plenty of them around too! They are barely in their mid 90s. Being in the mid 90s is nothing special for today's world. So yeah. There's a famous painter from my city and my country. He was born in 1923. And he is STILL looking perfectly fine and normal and still active. He was a completely adult dude in these times of the 1940s. So not a kid from the 40s, but even young adult from the 40s. Went through Covid like nothing and i suffered GREATLY aged 39, in the late parts of the 2021.

@nicklibby3784 Ай бұрын
@@Just_another_Euro_dude just because there is millions does not mean that *_MOST_* have not passed yet. There used to be *_BILLIONS_* of people alive in the 40s. Now there is only *_millions_* of people who were alive in the 40s. That's over a 90% decrease, therefore it is *_TRUE_* to say that: "most of those alive during this time are gone now, and that there is few left". Also: only 60% of people born in the 2015 birth cohort will live past 80, and 20% will die by 70. Most people die in their 60s-70s on average. Living past 80, especially in awesome amazing shape/health is a great gift.

@@Just_another_Euro_dude if you were a kid in the 40s you're about 85-90, so your years are running out... And that painter is holding up well then, but most people don't live till they're 101

My parents were teens in the 40s. My dad died 10 years ago and my mom died a year and a half ago at age 92. They loved the music of those days and even would go on dates to see Lawrence Welk play at the Aragon Ballroom in Santa Monica long before his TV fame. Their wedding song was in fact the Hawaiian Wedding Song. This is so peaceful to listen to these songs and makes me want to relive those times.

At first I was going to comment about how the sound of the waves were too loud, but it reminded me of the time I was sleeping in my apartment at the time in Lahaina and thinking about how loud the waves were crashing up against the wall 20 feet away. Great memories there, and happy Hawaii was the first place my family called home when they left their country.

Everybody's getting nostalgic over the music, and adapting the island life mindset, but I'm also over here using it as sleep ambiance. Been having bad brain days where my mental health overwhelm's me at night. This is the music that I've been listening to help me through it. Whether it be every day tasks, or falling asleep too. The dog barks are a bit irksone and not as soothing, but it is what it is. Doesn't change the fact that this helps me achieve relaxtion and sleep.

I'm a steel guitarist myself and I know how far those great players from the 1940s and '50s surpassed everything of the type, both before and after this great period, helped by the influence of swing music from the Big Band era. Also, the vocals were of the highest order - from the great steel guitarist/vocalist Bernie Kaai to the falsetto singing of Danny Kuaana, and so much more! The "Duke Kamoku" instrumental tracks included are from 1962/'63 and in my opinion too laid back - not in the class of the recordings a decade or so earlier. I recall that the sound of the surf was originally present here! But I feel strongly that your own addition of the surf on the earlier recordings offers nothing but an irritating distraction, which spoiled my enjoyment of the music as a whole. I feel sure those who can appreciate the high class musicianship would agree with me!

I like it..... it's about ambience: the music AND the sounds you'd hear if you were on that beach and the performers were there or just an old portable radio Dad brought. Did you hear the dog? Nice dog. Hawaii has many aspects and nuances .... where folks of all classes are welcome!

I used to live in Hawaii and I truly love Hawaiian culture and history. It's so sad what has happened to the place after the US occupied it. The beauty and uniqueness is dying in place of cultureless capitalism. I hope it once again becomes independent or at least less dependent of the US and that fewer people are allowed to buy 2nd homes and push the locals out. Ohana, aloha au i Hawaiʻi!!!
