Just realised, @garritygal… This illustration style is how they did the artwork (human depictions) in schoolbooks in the 1950s and 60s! Like basically virtually no people of colour. Totally crazy.

AI images: the landscapes look pretty good, but some of the people have some jacked up anatomy or renderings by AI. Sometimes there are perspective problems.
