We were so lucky that was what we grew up on! I rather be in my 40s and look back on all the fun we had without social media or cell phones everywhere. If you wanted to go somewhere you had to call the place and ask for directions. There was no staying home vegging on the computer, watching unlimited channels on TV/Internet or a cell phone to entertain you .If you did have a cell phone it was $300-400. a month. There was no sitting around you had to get out and entertain yourself. I always had so many more fun things to do it was non stop back in the late 80s/90s!

Damn I miss this show. And the years also. So many memories of hanging with the small group of our long haired metal head 'cheap booze drinking, weed smoking, cig smoking, super Nintendo and Atari Jaguar/Panasonic 3DO game playing, blasting music from thrash metal to death metal, partying in the forest with a good fire burning, standing in a circle to puff puff pass the weed' FRIENDS. Miss those days. Life was easier with very little responsibilities except working maybe a pizza job or a factory job, then getting off work to come together again, til early in the morning, almost Monday through Monday, every night just enjoying life. Living and working on 4 to 5 hr sleep just to wake and bake, work, then party. Once a year get some whippits, lol. Absolutely miss those days. Early 20s. Life was boss.

In my opinion, with hindsight being 20/20, Pantera was/is the heaviest band I've ever heard. Sabbath being before them...and I say Sabbath because you have to take into consideration their first album. That came out at the hight of the hippy flower power era. I'm sure those first few albums scared the shit out of alot of tripped out acid heads. But for my generation no band touches Pantera for sheer power and heaviness.
@justaman94817 жыл бұрын
Fuck yeah. I mean, I love, not like, but love every song on every album they made... There's no other band I can say that about. I've enjoyed all songs on other bands album or two, but not every song on every album. Prayers is the best band ever!

Yeah you missed a great Era when thrash, speed and death metal came out. Brutal (kick ass) times. It was totally metal, man. (can't believe I remember that. Metal. As an adjective. Instead of "man, that's so cool/awesome /fire" like today, back then us metalheads across the USA would play a good Maiden or Slayer riff on our air guitars with the solo of a great song or new album, or whatever amazing thing would be, "Dude, that's so metal.", usually accompanied by a hand holding up the "devils horns" and headbanging for no reason for a few seconds (cuz you weren't metal without that, lol. Guys all had long hair, wore flannels under black leather motorcycle jackets with a pack of Marlboro Reds in one pocket and maybe a $20 dollar quarter oz of bud (Marijuana) in the other (a $45 to $55 quarter oz was the best, top shelf bud, btw) in many circles) Life was just laid back and amazing. Though every person's "decade" is the best to them. Rose tinted nostalgic sunglasses, but it's okay. Memories of great times no matter what. Oh, don't feel too bad about not being born in the 70s to experience the mid/late 80s and early/mid 90's. You'd be early to late 40s and early 50s now ;)
