In this episode, we focus on a new building in our growing homestead: greenhouses! But we want a green greenhouse, not a clear clearhouse! So we put on our hiking shoes and strike out in search of some olivine to make green glass. Along the way, we make several exciting discoveries before bundling everything up and bringing it home!

The greenhouse looks great Kurazarrh. With maybe the exception of the smithy, it's probably the best looking build in the series thus far. You're setting the bar awfully high for the rest of us!
@Kurazarrh
@Kurazarrh 2 жыл бұрын
Haha, thank you! I think I'm not quite done with the greenhouse yet, I just need to think about how to decorate it. Since the immediate walls can't have chiseled blocks, it kind of necessitates a blockier build, but I might toy around with greebles and such to see if I can break up some of those squarer, flatter shapes!

I’ve only just discovered Vintage story a few months ago, but the amount of things you need to do just to have a chance at surviving is so difficult. This game really is a joy to play if you like to be challenged.

It's definitely a game with a long learning curve. I wouldn't say it's a steep one, though, just long. And once you get the hang of it, starting a new world or new project becomes significantly less daunting!

When you have cheese, that's when you know you've made it and become truly decadent.

Indeed! Now all I need to do is secure a constant supply of salt for cheese. Wouldn't want to backslide on my decadence!

If you haven’t already, when it comes to blue cheese you could use a cave. Historically and even today caves are a great place for long term cheese storage

Yeah, I haven't fiddled with bleu cheese much because I know a lot of folks have struggled to get it working. I want to make sure I can actually do it justice before I make an episode about it! :)

Great Content as always. My biggest gripe in this game, I know I know it’s me not them butttt… This is a “Hothouse” not a Greenhouse, a Greenhouse Regulates the temperature, imagine having a Greenhouse in the Desert!? 🤩 Also DUDE .. CRYSTALS!!!!
@Kurazarrh
@Kurazarrh 2 жыл бұрын
Good point! Are you a gardening/horticulture enthusiast? Regardless, it would be REALLY neat to have real greenhouses, maybe with a means of setting a target temperature via various heating/cooling methods. The crystals are SO cool. I used to have a rock & crystal collection as a kid. Love crystals and gems and such. I really hope I can run into some of the other crystal types some day.

Hello, the chiseled blocks actually count as solid blocks, on condition the side facing to the inside is unchiseled, and the total voxels removed are below 50%. At least it is the thing for rooms and cellars. Greenhouse should be the same, I guess...

Mansion is starting to look real fancy, perfect for the renowned Master of Plaster. On a side note, have you already planned out what rooms you want on the topmost floor, or are you allowing suggestions? Asking to be sure ~ also, is there a reason why the animals are out of the pen?
@Kurazarrh
@Kurazarrh 2 жыл бұрын
:D Thank you! I have some ideas for the top rooms but I haven't set anything in stone--er, in plaster--yet. I'm thinking of cutting it down the middle and doing half as a bedroom or dressing room, and the other as the original showroom idea, with a fireplace in between. But that may change, and if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them, even if I can't promise that I'll implement them. As for the animals... they're a bit glitchy sometimes. I should have made the barn a little bigger and used full blocks instead of the fences. The animals, when they are born, or when they grow up, can end up cramming in weird places and end up shunting through fences and other less-than-full blocks!

Haha... maybe I'm crazy, but I don't find it frustrating at all! I like building and creating and tinkering with rules and systems to find things that work.
