A pair of old van seats found on kijiji classifieds in obscenely good condition provide a great foundation for a tricked out custom swivel seat build. Watch Mike in action as he welds, grinds, and cuts up a storm, the end result of which is a fabulous pair of rotating chairs creating an ideal living space without sacrificing practicality or safety!

Need to do this to my seats. Found some swivels out of an 83. Been cleaning them up as time permits. Cheers

Good idea to use a lazy susan maybe. Bummer tho that the formed sheet bearing races in the lazy susan looked to have gotten overheated where we see them turning very roughly by hand and we never see a seat turning in the van at all. Well, I suppose sometimes we just make do with doo? Oh well, I'll still drink to you. Cheers!

Great custom swivel solution! Were the metal bases of the bucket seats welded to the floor of your van and did you have to cut them out? I have a '95 GMC Rally Wagon and am trying to figure out how to swivel the front seats as well. Thanks for uploading, really clean job y'all did there!

How does one acquire just the swivel seat plates for a ‘91 gmc vandura? Everything I find is ‘96 and above. I don’t need new seats - just want to install the swivel plate. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Tari try looking into the facebook vanning forums/groups. And sometimes there are some after market companies selling van accessories that have swivels. I just lucked out and got some used swivel seats from a guy for free! I ditched the chairs and kept the swivel mounts. It's not easy to find 'em but keep trying!

I don't see why not. Just make sure it's solidly built and welded! Check your local/state/country safety regulations for vehicle modifications.
