Can confirm, that is indeed a 'stock' trail. I lead quite a few bone stock trucks and Jeeps through there with newb drivers. But this is also a good case as to why MANY legit grpups don't just give out "maps and directions". In that section you walked there were 3 separate private rputes that are private property and will get you shot if you venture on them at the wrong time. Especially in Vinton County, don't go by yourself if you don't know the trails. We've actually lost access to several 'roads' because of ppl 'exploring'.

Hey thanks! We do have a stock Jeep Cherokee XJ that would fit in better with your rides than our truck. When you come out of winter hibernation we'd like to tag along with you on the next ride for stock Jeeps!

If they're so worried about people driving into their properties, Why they just don't post No Trespassing signs? I understand and respect property lines and never drive or walk on private property on purpose, but I'll not quit exploring unmaintained and abandoned public roads and trails because some property owners think is theirs.
@FearlessTrailhawk2 жыл бұрын
@@brutallyhonestmf5578 Because a$&hats constantly take the signs down or cut the ropes. The property owners have better things to do and spend money on than to babysit signs every week. You have obviously never owned any property that people liked to trespass on. And in this area, making the wrong turn can legit end up with bullets flying your direction. Within the last year there were TWO instances of land owners discharging firearms towards trespassing offroaders. And often, it IS infact their property as the county has dropped the public easements and released it to the land owners. Just because it appears to be an abandoned public road doesn't mean the public easement is still intact. Just because you think it should be public, doesn't mean it is. I've never understood why people won't do the proper research and acquiring the current county engineer maps, or find someone else who knows the trails to guide them, because they prefer to claim they "didn't know".

running those areas without proper gear or vehicles will get you stuck also not a good idea to run that area without a group who know the area due to alot of unmarked roads lead into private property. this is why you wont find alot of routes online for it.

@@28TrucksTravel A stock jeep with good approach/departure angles can make those trails look easy. IF someone told you there are stock trails in VC I am sure they were thinking stock jeeps. There are no trails in VC suitable for a stock pickup that I am aware of. You can run the gravel roads in Scioto trail state park nearby with your trucks. They are very scenic and do have some steep sections also there is a fire tower you can climb to the top.

@@brianblocher6931 Thanks for the tip! I'll google the Scioto trail and see what come up!

@@28TrucksTravel thats because it is VERY easy to wind up of private property down there, which the locals tend to defend with groups of armed folks. Shots have been fired at trespassers just last year. The more individuals wind up on private property, the more the locals complain to the county, the higher the chance the county gives the public easements back to the land owners. The available 'trail maps' do not show the nuances of each trail. Like i said in my other comment, most responsible 'groups' and 'clubs' will not hand out maps and directions to utter newbs to the area. Even if you had a built up rig and 20 years of driving experience i'd tell you the same thing...go with other groups that know the area and what is public/private, until you yourself are familiar with the area. Also, FedEx vans occasionally make most of that road from the other side and get stuck in that hole. Heck, and Amazon delivery van recently made it farther down that trail, in the snow, than you guys went. There are a few trails down there that your stock trucks could do, but body scratches are very likely from getting tilted into dirt banks (unavoidable), and the white truck might lose those side steps.

@@FearlessTrailhawk Thank you for the helpful tips! But it's really sad and embarrassing that the Amazon truck made it further than we did LOL.

That is one of the easier trails in the area besides forest roads. That one hole is getting deep (deeper than in the video), but the rest of the trail (it's actually an unmaintained township road) is pretty easy.
@28TrucksTravel3 жыл бұрын
@@KJsProjects So that big mud hole is kinda like a "gate-keeper" and the rest of the trail does not have deep holes like that? Also some guys rode by on quads and said that the road didn't go through, can you confirm?
@KJsProjects3 жыл бұрын
@@28TrucksTravel yes, the road does connect back to pavement. There are a few hols on the trail, but nothing that extreme. If you look at my channel KJs JK, I have a trail video that shows the rest of the trail. My Jeep is a 97 Grand Cherokee with 4.5 inches of lift, 33 inch tires, winch and rear locker. I can make it no problems. The first time I went I was no lift on 28inch tires. I made it about 2/3rds of the way before I high centered. I think with your truck you need to improve your approach and departure angles, so a lift and tires would be a good investment.

I agree, how can you call the channel project overland usa when you can't make it down a ROAD... these 'trails' in vinton county are in fact unmaintained county roads. Those trucks would make those trails easy enough, if you were competent drivers. If you need a 6 inch lift for a mud puddle stick to pavement.
