@@drzg2640 Guy is a broke kid who was willing to pay more than the car was worth to get it. Is hardly begging for it for free. Yeah, tried the "I would give it" line which imo was a bit.... I dont believe. But 2500 USD for a non runner BMW 750ci is pretty decent cash still. I mean respect for the story cause nothing beats getting back a car with personal history. But he was also a shrewd negotiator. Despite that, if clean and service it back up, then is something only that car can bring

@@drzg2640 Busking isnt begging. Buskers dont play, dont get money. Dont play well and effectively less than minimum wage. Dont be judging how other people live based on the life you got to live. That was a lot of effort and cash still making the decision to do this in itself significant. Is it how I would have gone about it? No. But I am not Dominick, I Dont live in Chicago. A bum would have taken that 2500 and drunk/smoked/snorted it away. Not spent so much effort trying to find something that clearly had a significant level of personal value and did what they could with what they had and knew to do it. I have listened to Buskers and tossed em cash because if somebody has musical talent and skillful in play. I benefit from hearing them, and offer them a gratuity for it if they are respectful of their surroundings

Man do I feel this on a personal level. While he is still thankfully with us, my daily is my Grandad's 1999 Ranger, that was his retirement gift from Ford. I also just helped my step-dad track down his Mom's 1974 Grand Prix, and the tears rolling down his face when we put her in the garage nearly broke me. She passed in 1992, and this was the last car she ever drove.

Thank you!! After two new fuel pumps the car has seen about 800 miles. Including 400 in two days when the daily broke. Very fun car!!

@@EEE_MMM we didn’t meet right at the middle at $0. Honestly, we were going to trade cars and get cash involved, but we couldn’t reach a deal. He wanted my Lincoln town car... bad.

I was thinking the same thing! Super weird hearing “Rockford” on anything, let alone vinwiki is awesome. We have a couple other locals on vinwiki videos too. Kinda funny considering how shitty Rockford actually is.

That is a cool story. No rich guy, no new GT3 Porsche, no Ferrari, nothing fancy (tough a 7 series is/was fancy)... Just a good history, humor, adventure, a dude with will and of course, a dream machine.

I like how he tells the old man you should just give me the car…. Like who does that lol. Aside from that one part it was a great story, it’s similar to how I tracked down my dads 70 cuda and am in the process of rebuilding.
