Made my first attempt at doing the Tech Art Carbon on my WRX trunk spoiler. Everything but the ends turned out good. I am going to take it off and redo... watched this vid 3 times now. Hopefully second time is a charm

Hello, Christian! Excellent work as always! A little tip: when you have to work a lot with a heat gun - it is convenient to clamp the heat gun between the legs (the nozzle should be directed backwards). This will allow you to lean less towards the floor and save your strength and time 👌

Rust wrapped the “spoiler” on my g37, this vid helped.

I'm wrapping the rear spoiler on my new Kia Niro EV in carbon fiber wrap. It is like a duckbill spoiler x3 in it's complexity. I thought it would be easier to wrap with it off the car since I can get to the under side easier. Hell no. The amount of stretching needed to make it work in one piece requires it to be fixed solidly in place. Needlessly to say, the first time wrapping it ended up with all kinds of wrinkles on the underside that I could not flatten out. Tore it off and starting over tonight with the spoiler attached to the car this time. Need to get that rounded over edge on first, then stretch it like a sock over the ends. Probably should have chosen an easier shape to do for my first time, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

What about wrapping the entire trunk with the duckbill on as one piece? Would that make sense to do it, or would it be super challenging?

I need to find a video of someone wrapping the corners of a lip spoiler in a closeup, i'm having trouble getting rid of all the wrinkles as you wrap around the corners.

I assume this will work just the same for the oem? I don't want to spend on a new duck bill, i like the oem. Just that the cheap Subaru paint job is fading so i want to wrap it.

I really hope you get the opportunity to tackle a Chevy SS/VF Commodore duckbill tail. They are almost cresent shaped and have an insane recess on the backside where it meets the boot, I tried 3 times before I gave up and painted mine instead so I'd love to see how you would do it.

Would recommend getting the wrap installed as good as possible and then removing it in order to primer and under warping the edges?

Should I wrap the trunk first, then stick the spoiler, then wrap the spoiler? Concerned about the adhesion.

Hi, I like your videos. I plan on doing my Calipers and side mirrors in the spring. I have a question, I watched your video for a one piece wrap for duck type spoiler. I have 2017 Mustang Gt with a 70's era huge duck tail spoiler. Way bigger than the nissan you wrapped in grey. I'm wondering if mine can be done in one peice? I'd send you a pic if I could. Thanks for any advice.

What can you do to help a surface that does not stick well to vinyl wrap? For example, a un-painted spoiler.

Can I install the trunk spoiler after the wrap? Is it safe to stick it to a wrapped trunk?

If it doesn't still well why not just roll the film underneath an 1/8 inch then mount the wing so mounting keeps it safe and in place? Is that a bad thing to do?

I have a duckbill on my FRS, but it’s molded to the trunk so its one piece. Could it be wrapped in 1 piece?

14:20 in this video, you can see that the car behind you to be wrapped in yellow, the whole side (front door, rear door, quarter panel, A pillar etc.) is wrapped in ONE piece vinyl. This seems different to your demonstration videos. Do you recommend one piece wrap like the yellow one, or wrap every panel one by one? BTW, Great Channel, I have been watching over 100+ videos. Thanks. Still finding a video to show how you wrap the roof with shark-fin antenna on.

Got one question, when do you attach the spoiler? Do you attach it to the car(paint) itself or on top of the vinyl?

What type of knife do you use to cut vinyl ?

what i don't understand is this: you clean the work surface and try to get no dirt under the vinyl but still touch it with you fingers when lifting it up to get air out(not talking about the excess you trim afterwards but the). are there problems with wrap sticking in the long run? for example 6:02 also. sorry if it sounded like an attack but i'm generally curious as all wrappers i've seen did this.

Super late to this video, but I hope someone still monitors the comments. Was the trunk already wrapped as one piece before the spoiler was installed? If so, how reliable is the adhesion with the spoiler trying to pull it off while you drive down the road? Edit: I see most of my question was answered below. But if the surface was prepped well before the wrap was applied, is there any concern with the wrap letting go under stress of the spoiler pulling away from the car (this is just a daily driver, will likely never see speeds north of 100mph).
