That was the first record I played when pulling a few out of my dad's collection. Anyway I left the album on my bed and my guitar teacher noticed and asked to see it. He asked if it was a pink label and not knowing I told him to look. Anyway he told me it was a first pressing and was sort after, so we got it check out and it's valued at £700. I was holy shit that record sat in a cupboard and we had no clue. Anyway pretty cool really got me into vinyl.

I feel like Hounds of Love by Kate Bush could've made it onto this list. Easily one of the best albums from the 80s and I'd say its one of the best in general. Side B is called The 9th Wave, which is a musical piece of interconnected songs about a woman being swept away in an icy river and the songs chronicle that journey. Under Ice is still one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard. This album was widely been regarded as her best album and is definitely the best way to get into Kate's music since it's got popular songs like Running Up That Hill and Cloudbusting. Kate's entire back catalog was just remastered and rereleased on 180g vinyl and I've heard nothing but glowing reviews for it. Hounds of Love will definitely be the first of the remasters I get my hands on for sure lol The reason I'm talking her up so much is because she's super well known in Britain but here in the US she's almost unknown save for Running Up That Hill. Also ironically her worst selling album, The Red Shoes, performed the best of all of her albums here in the US lol

I’m glad you gave Disintegration a shoutout. While I think Seventeen Seconds is The Cure’s best album, Disintegration holds a special spot on my heart, as it’s one of my mother’s favorite albums. Every time I step into her Mitsubishi Outlander and switch on the stereo, I can expect to find it loaded in her CD drive. It’s an excellent album, without a doubt. And I’m not surprised you mentioned Dark Side of the Moon. Again, it’s a classic, and no psychedelic rock collection can be complete without it. One album I think is a vinyl necessity: Daft Punk-Discovery. It’s the ultimate blend of French house, synth, and disco, and no party is complete without it. Its also relatively cheap on vinyl: my copy cost $21, which is pretty economic for a double LP, especially considering that the CD costs just a few dollars less.

To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. One of the greatest albums ever in my opinion and it is best if listened completely in the right order (like a record) considering it's a long story of exploitation of black artists, depression, racial issues, and self love.

A great song is “ head by a century “ by the tragically hip . The world lost lead singer gord downy this year to cancer . May his soul and memory live on through his music. When they performed their last concert in their home town of Kingston Ontario Canada it was televised on the main network in Canada and the whole country watched. It was nice to see the effect their music had on our hearts. He played his heart out and you could tell a bit that he was weak . RIP . May your music live on forever!. Please give a like if anyone agrees.

I only need 8 pieces of system components and accessories in order to play all of my extensive collection. I I assembled some HEATHKIT Components. 2 AR2 type speaker systems, a phonograph record changer upon which I'm able to play 16, 33, 45 and 78 RPM shellac and vinyl mono and stereo records. And it is possible to play a stack of 10 records at a time. I later added a 5 disc stereo Compack Disc carrousel disc changer to my HEATHKIT components. And I have a Sony am and fm stereo Boom Box upon which I'm also able to play the CD's and audio cassette tapes!

"Bat out of hell" by Meat Loaf. I remember when it came out- everyone (I knew) bought it. But "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John is by far the best album I've heard, simply brilliant. Every song on there is a gem, which is amazing for a double album, except perhaps for "i've seen that movie too", that's only quite good.

Yes he did..for the most part. I think Thriller was okay, but it's pretty fluffy, which is a HUGE bugaboo I have with a lot of 80s music. The sound was like a strawberry souffle with whipped cream. 80s Bands like Depeche Mode and the Art of Noise, however, are more like an Angus burger...really thick and long lasting. You know you ATE after having one of those. Then, of course, you have your Pretenders, your Plasmatics, your Dead Kennedys, etc. great stuff.

Carole King, "Tapestry"; Quincy Jones, "Back on the Block"; Erykah Badu, "Baduism"; India.Arie, "Acoustic Soul"; D. Parton/E. Harris/L. Ronstadt, the Trio albums; Justin Timberlake, "Justified"; RUN-DMC, "Raising Hell"...just a few.
