I left working in Manila years ago but when I do go on EDSA, it's natural instinct to ride down the normal lanes for private vehicles, I kind of expect it to be slow moving and I admire this Edsa bus way/carousel project. I admire and love it for commuters as I was once also a commuter. Love your vids but I do miss clearing operations videos :)

One of my major complaints about using public transportation was access. This was when I first moved here. Since then, it's easier to have a car, but trying to go up and down those steps can be too challenging. Glad to see they're (elevators) being implemented and let's hope they stay in good working order. Let's just be clear regarding vehicles whether cars or scooters. No valid license plate, no access to the street. Why they are not confiscated on the spot is beyond me. Philippines is too soft. There is NEVER a reason to be out on the road without proper plates.

This running away thing, that's been done so many times, by now they should have a means to stop that. The problem with showing those escaping apprehension is that it gives others the idea. especially if no one is actually seeing them in LTO office getting their fines and penalties.

Can you vlog also about the riders who ran away from enforcers that has been given a show cause order? Since many who ran away and nobody knows if the MMDA or LTO really pursue the ran away riders. If nothing has been punished, better who violates Bus Lane should ran from enforcer.

It seems front plates are required to identify motorcycles, not just here but anywhere else as its mostly used for riding in tandem and other snatching as well.

First offense 1,000 pesos, 2nd offense 5,000 pesos, 3rd offense 10,000 pesos, 4th offense 20,000 pesos, 5th offense 50,000 pesos and so on... Driving without a license, having a 1st offense of 30 days in jail, and a 2nd offense for driving without a license, the vehicle is forfeited to the government jurisdiction - no vehicle to drive, no way to re-offend. Driving on public roadways is a privilege, not a right!

Do they know where to send the show cause order when it's issued? Or is it just issued and they hope its outstanding when they catch them again, as it seems from other videos that there are many repeat violators. Even confiscating the licence does little because the then drive without a licence without any fear of being arrested and jailed.

Runners should be jailed or pay a fine of 100k , have their licensed revoked permanently and publicly shamed thru media, one or all of these will teach them a good lesson.

i think to be able apprehend those violators they need a cctv additional supporting evidence or a watch tower of some sort to see clearly the violators and also issue to warning or penalties to mc taxi companies for their riders who continue to violet the bus lane rule.

I think they are to soft on violators in general. In most parts of the world if you are pulled over for a traffic violation and fight, try to evade, or even run over the officer to get away. You get arrested and charged with evading, resisting and the violation. If you have a vehicle and make it look like a police or other government vehicle you are also changed with impersonation fraud. The officers should literally kick over the motorcycles who are resisting, evading and almost running them over. Then when they are caught their vehicle should be IMPOUNDED, fined and suspension temp of driving privilege's for one month. Let them take THE BUS for a few weeks so they can appreciate the privilege's of driving again .

It's a game of cat and mouse. What will happen is that riders will remove their plates or put in permanent "temporary plates". Then against the "show cause" order, people will just not renew the registration of their motorcycles anymore, as not a small minority of motorcycle owners have been doing for a long time.

I wonder if the enforcers add the no plate violation on top of the busway violation. They really need to crack down on this because its really unfair to law abiding citizens, especially if they've been the cause of an accident and they just run away. Stiffer penalties should be implemented.

It is easy to stop runners; when they are caught, the vehicle becomes the property of the government - "asset forfeiture" is a powerful tool. The word will get around quickly - no more runners and lots of revenue for the city to pay for the cost of enforcement.
