Not necessarily there are different levels of nursing that gives different scopes of practices. To be a licensed practical nurse you don't need a degree just a certification. LPN's can't do as much as a registered nurse but they are still nurses. Also, to be a registered nurse you need a 2 year degree at the minimum.

@@duskears8686 this woman already has a bachelor and God only knows what it is , she did everything wrong every choice she made was wrong. Why did she stay at home with her family and go to a College near her? Why didn’t she take 10 to 12 credits and then the rest she can work a job, why didn’t she choose a career path that actually pays money instead of chasing some dream job even if you were adamant on the dream job, there are other pathways to get there not to mention he’s pursuing a second bachelor degree. I don’t know man it’s very hard to have sympathy on these type of people. Especially considering that 65% of the $1.6 trillion student loan debt is occurred by women and then what triggered me further was there was some old geezer in the common section advising this woman to find a “nice guy “ to take care of her like why would he wish that burden of inheriting debt on someone else when this hypothetical nice guy “ got his life together. Sorry for going on a tangent, but this is just stupid shit I’m in school right now and I’m not occurring a dime in debt . High school teachers are constantly pushing me to go for the four-year directly and then every time I asked her about debt and how much that she has ,she would constantly try to downplay it like oh yeah, it was worth it , I just pay a little bit every month.

If you're going to follow the crowd, then you messed up already. I started working at 12. I learned all about ambition, motivation. Initiative, personal and financial responsibility starting young. When I graduated from high school early I wasn't ready for college because I wasn't financial or emotional ready for such a big commitment. I joined the military. When I came out, I went back into printing and started doing volunteer work in history (my passion). That's when I discovered people with their masters in history driving city busses for a living. I chose a different route -- nursing. I consolidated my finances. Found an elderly couple that was willing to exchange a basement bedroom for work around the house. I used my VA benefits. I acquired my BSN from a major university/hospital and was hired by them a month before I graduated. I was debt free. It can be done if you're able to think outside the box and make sacrifices.

🎯🎯🎯 👏👏👏👏 Exactly. It's a spiritual sickness, this self-righteous, cold-hearted mentality of so many in the comments. Nothing good can come of it. We've all sinned, we all fall short, and no one is perfect. They're acting like Pharisees who think they have the right to throw stones at everyone who is struggling or doesn't match their ideal. I'm willing to bet they've made their share of mistakes, too, and wouldn't like to be dragged over the coals like they're dragging this young lady. Like they want to feel superior at any cost. This poor girl is literally crying and bearing her soul out of some desperate need for compassion in a time of trial, and instead they want to laugh at her, wag their fingers, and shame her. This isn't right. Now matter how you slice it. Even if someone is dead-set against loans, you can disagree without attacking a crying girl. There's no need to forsake your humanity to feed your ungodly holier-than-thou pride. God *condemns* such an attitude. And they're certainly not winning hearts and minds through this approach, so what exactly is the point? Only to be ugly and cruel to someone suffering and in need of simple human kindness? Every one of our Provinces and the Federal government, over the course of our Nationhood have jiggered the employment laws of our land to suit their various needs and purposes against those of their citizens and the workers. Making life for the Haves as grand as can be and life for the Have Nots Working Class, tougher than the hard tack which is fast becoming the only thing which they are able to afford to get to eat. My point being that the level of hardship that this young woman is boiling in, is positively inhumane to be enduring. And since she is living in what is basically the absolute richest country on the planet, except maybe for the oil rich countries, there's basically no excuse whatsoever for the situation that she finds herself in.🤷🏽 That's all.

I love all the comments about how she’s an idiot for going to college. There are SO many jobs that require a degree just to get the job- not a raise or promotion, just to get an entry level position. And each and every person who says getting a degree is stupid would be completely lost without those of us who went and got them. Teachers are some of the worst paid people in this country, yet none of you could have your HS diploma without them, and you couldn’t have your awesome I-don’t-need-a-degree-to-succeed jobs without them. No teachers, no learning to read or do math, good luck getting any job. No doctors and nurses, hope you can take care of all your health concerns yourself, hope you never get cancer or need any kind of surgery. Maybe instead of hating on the poor girl for trying to get ahead and help people who look down on her, understand that not everyone knows what they want to do with their life at 18, and that climbing out of generational poverty is harder than it looks from the other, richer side of the fence.

Its sad. Almost all jobs now require at least a bachelor’s and then right off the bat in order to work you are saddled with student loan debt that you can’t ever pay off because of the interest that accrues. These young people were told and encouraged to go college by the same people that never had student debt because college was free or $3-7 dollars a unit. Now its hundreds of dollars a unit and the colleges are worthless. All of the extra moneys pays the administrators millions while the predatory lenders make double or tripled the borrowers debt. All of the debt should be forgiven and nobody should have to pay it back because it should’ve been illegal to do what the universities and lenders have done. The burden shouldn’t fall on the tax payers. It should fall on the universities and the predatory lenders.

@@tmusa2002 She's clearly not trying to become an LPN if she's in a bachelor's program for nursing. That's like saying if you want to become a chef, just go work at McDonald's.

@@merdufer One year at a community college gets you an LPN; two years at a community college gets you an RN. Many nurses, especially those without money, begin work as an RN. Some stay an RN for their entire career. Most employers will pay the tuition for an RN to obtain a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN), and having one pays better and it is often required to go into management. Higher levels of leadership require a masters degree, of which the employer will also pay for. Many nurses interested in higher leadership roles obtain a masters in healthcare administration. Some nurses go on to become a nurse practitioner, which is what many of us see in lieu of an MD these days, due to the shortage and expense of doctors. Given this girl’s situation, she needs to get out there asap. I lived the same, I was also on my own at her age. She needs to find a mentor.

Stop the pipeline of students directly to college. Trade schools will put you in a fantastic job with great pay and a whole lot less debt. Stop selling the dream that a college degree is the only road to success. Humanities majors and the like will not get good paying jobs. Going to a vanity school and taking out loan after loan for 4 to 10 years will not set you on a financially sound footing.

Baby, I feel your pain.... I want to share something I learned and am working on myself right now. You can't really work yourself out of poverty. Even if you make good money because once you stop working your income stops. Focus on becoming a employer vs employee. Even if you only employ yourself. Learn how to make your money work for you vs spending or saving. An education for a career is the trap. I have faith in you and believe you will see yourself to a place you desire. Most important, even if you do know how, believe it all happen for a reason, you learned things you wouldn't have other wise and be grateful for the journey knowing what you want is here for you & in the mean time appreciate the lessons. A mindset is your most valued possession.

I'm curious when people take out those insane levels of college loans when 18.. what is their thought process? Like did you think it would be free money? A much better solution than "cancelling" student debt.. which isn't cancelling just the federal government borrowing to pay it off, is allowing student loans to become bankruptable again. When students start getting them removed in bankruptcy, institutions will stop loaning ridiculous amounts of money to people who can't pay it back, and college costs will come down, because there's not endless free money to pay for it. It's a win-win-win scenario.

After watching this video I can understand where she is coming from. My parents were sharecroppers and I never had the chance to go to college. I am 75 years old and still wish I could have attended college. I think that nurses and teachers are the two professions whereas the loans should be forgiven. Our society needs teachers and first responders, both that pay very little for the lives they help to save. Please don't give up on yourself and we all come from poverty and we gain wealth through knowledge.

Nursing is a smart choice provided it’s a job you can realistically stand. It is not for the majority of people. It could pay off debt that is modest. As far as electives just pass them and don’t stress about those. Then if you want to set yourself up really well, after you take Data Structures, practice answering Leetcode questions (look up the Blind 75 for which questions to study) for about 3 months (these things take time don’t stress if you can’t answer the “Easy” questions at first).
