Since posting this video, VDJ has released some new updates (3rd April 2024) The main focus of this new version was cloud storage, and library organization. 1) *introducing CloudDrive* Sync your lists and files to the cloud, and retrieve and stream them from anywhere. CloudDrive doesn't lock you with one storage solution and will work with your favorite one, whether it's googleDrive, oneDrive, iCloud or dropbox. It requires no external utility to install, no complicated linking of accounts, no additional subscription to buy. Just click and it works. The way it should be. CloudDrive can be used in many different ways: - have an "emergency list" of your favorite tracks, so that you can quickly log in and stream them from any friend's computer. - set up to sync your main music folder, so that you can feel safe knowing that your lists, files, cue points, etc are all always backed up in case something happens to your laptop. - use 3-way sync to prepare your lists on your home computer, and have your gig computer always synced. - or any other uses you would expect from a cloud solution. 2) *Library organization* - VirtualDJ 2024 unifies all the previous ways VirtualDJ used to store lists (playlists, virtual folders) into standardized MyLists that get the best of both worlds. Compatible with drive HotPlug (your Lists go with your files, so if you move a portable hard drive or a usb stick, your Lists are still there), optional deduplication, ordered or not. The choice is yours. - It also features quick-access shortcuts to your folders on the left toolbar, for even more convenient browsing. Just drag any folder on a shortcut button, and optionally choose an icon and color to find them even more easily. - And a new Linked-track view, that is like your own private liveFeedback but based only on your own history or tracks that you manually link. What do people DJ with now.. I DJ’d 10 years ago and used MP3’s from iTunes. Do you download songs for virtual dj or can you utilise Spotify streaming or Apple Music?

Hi @antflynn7 👋🙂 10 years is a long time 😭 to stay away from the decks. But hey, once a DJ always a DJ. Virtual DJ supports a couple of streaming platforms but sadly they removed Spotify and don't support itunes. These are the streaming platforms you can link to virtual dj currently: Beatport Streaming, Beatsource, iDJ Pool, SoundCloud Go+ and TIDAL. PS: Hope you get back to DJing soon and continue spreading joy to your listeners 😀😀😀

I have a question? If i buy a dj controller which is the same as my old one , do i keep my home licence ?

Hi @djgiorgiooficial7113 👋😊 That's a very important question. If you're using the Plus licenses, note that they are locked to the named controller (that's why they're cheaper than the full license), and since your controller might have gotten an upgrade, it's not safe to assume that the controller name (including identifier meta data) is still the same as when you bought the licence. so the best approach would be to buy another license for the controller or buy the full Pro Infinity license if you want to avoid paying again when you change controllers. All In all, there's no harm in trying whether the controller will work with your old licence. Hope this helps.

Hi @Whylone 👋☺️ Help me understand your question better please. Are you referring to the part where you have to hold the alt key in order to access the factory mappings?

Yes. But I have a hard time changing songs then going back into the alt settings

I see... Well, to use the factory mappings without holding alt everytime, you can trick VDJ into thinking that the factory mappings are your own custom mappings which will remove the need for holding alt. To do this: - go the controller tab and load up the factory mappings - find an empty key (no actions assigned) and assign it a random action like (pad 1) - click on save and VDJ will save the mapping as custom mapping or whichever name you assign it. Try it out and don't hesitate to ask if you need more help.
