100% agree bro! This is pure gold. I’ve been a shooter for 20 years, sniper in the army and overall nerd. I could listen to this for days!

Thank You Bryan, I've learned tons from reading your books, but listening to you explain in "real life" terms really puts it together. Totally awesome!

I have been using solvent cleaning for years. I used to use J-B bore paste back in the day. I usually have to shoot 10-15 or more sighters to get the barrel to settle down after a thorough solvent cleaning but this weekend I went back to abrasive cleaning with my decade or more old J-B Bore Paste pot and the first sighter was a close 10 at 11:00, one click down and it shot X ring elevation the rest of the match. Thank you, Bryan Litz for bringing me back into the abrasive fold. 🐏🐑🐑🐑🐑

Great content but just as significant is your internal thought organization. You know your stuff and can explain in a straightforward way. Thank you very much. J.

Just outstanding! My last EIC match I came in second even though I had a miss at 200 yards standing. Seems only two shooters got the wind velocity and direction of wind correct at 300 yards and I was one of those shooters. Other shooters lost about 20 points. At any rate, I got 8 points for a 474 x 14, needing only 4 of those to go Distinguished. I read wind at mid range BTW, which seems to be the way to go at Camp Atterbury.

Just finished listening to this. Would love if you did more of these types of videos. I've been reloading and shooting for 12 years now. So much of what you touched upon I've learned, the hard way, through trial and error. Would be interested to know your "reloading" process from brass prep to seating the projectile. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

You mention matching primer with powder, how do you do that when the choice is say IMR 4064 and 8208 and Federal 205M and Remington 7 1/2 primers ? Thanks. Edit - you answer this at 51.00 minutes, thanks.

Hi. What is your aim in barricaded horizontal or diagonal?Do they have same trajectory or just the same with vertical shooting?

Phenomenal stuff by Bryan as usual - thanks! I’m curious if he has an opinion on brass or nylon brushes with JB & Kroil or if he only recommends using patches.

With regard to cant, should I level the gun to the ground or should I level the gun to the target? I typically level my crosshairs to the numbers on the target. Is this correct?
@josephhomen
@josephhomen 2 жыл бұрын
Crosshairs should be level/plum to the earth. Not a target that is most likely not level. Search KZfaq how to do a tall target test

Level to the axis of the force of gravity. Vertical reticle parallel to a plumb bob line. Also critical to have the bubble level on the rifle true to the reticle.

Quick question, Applied Ballistics makes adjustments based on ambient temperature. More relevant to air density. What, if any, is the factor to powder temperature? Is any factor also considered in the App? The puzzle for me is: I know different powders are very sensitive to Temperatures and Some are "Stabilized " and fairly resistant to Temperature variation. Should I add (or subtract) feet per second based on Ammo Temperature variation to the Muzzle Velocity input? Is this the correct way to handle this?
@DanielReyes-hz1qk
@DanielReyes-hz1qk Жыл бұрын
I don't believe the software makes any adjustments based on the powder, and it would vary too much powder to powder and lot to lot to be consistent anyway. I would adjust muzzle velocity based on real world experience with your exact load, shooting it at different temperature extremes and seeing how the velocity changes in relation to temp

@@DanielReyes-hz1qk This was about a year ago- so in the meantime, I did a lot of testing using ceramic temperature blocks and freezing at 10-degree steps 0 - 100 degrees. And charted it from there. Came out very repeatable for each powder. Gives me a good idea of cold bore velocity variance at a given temperature.

@@Necroscope10 That's fantastic! I've gotten away from temp sensitive powders as much as I can but still have some Reloder 15, 17 and 19 to work through. I've always tried to work up loads with those at higher temps but never went back to do any cold testing, and once I got ahold of some Reloder 16 I just haven't had reason to
