Turtles in time (07:25) was the first SNES game to really blow my mind back then. To play something almost as good as arcade at home was something.

I'm not sure I'd count Mutant Apocalypse or War of the Gems (those games feel more like action platformers with brawler-style combat), but Ninja Warriors absolutely should have been on this list.

TMNT I'm sure there were licensing issues due to Nickelodeon owning the property now, but they put Double Dragon II on the NES Classic. Not having Super Double Dragon (or any other brawler) on the SNES classic was such an avoidable mistake.

There are 3 Power Rangers Games for the SNES, 1 Fighting and Two Beat em Ups. The Name is very Similar, Its Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie. So 1 Game is Missing here, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers"

Final Fight 1,2 and 3,Sonic Blastman 1 and 2,Rushing Beat series(Rival Turf,Peace Keepers and Brawl Brothers),Captain Commando,King Of Dragons,Knight Of Rounds,Undercover Cops,Pirates of Dark Water,Legend,Batman Returns,The Death Of Return Of Superman,Spider-man and Venom Maximum Carnage and TMNT Turtles In Time were my personal favorites Snes beat'n ups. They don't make games like that in nowadays.

Forgot a few games. The original Power Rangers game, Prime (cancelled), Batman (prototype), Ultimate Fighter, The Ninja Warriors, X-Men Mutant Apocalypse, The Adventures of Batman and Robin (debatable) and Battle Zeque Den, and Last Action Hero.

In this entire video, only Shounen Ninja Sasuke showed more than three enemies on-screen at once (it showed four). I think the Mega Drive is better suited to these games. Streets of Rage often throws five enemies at you at once. I think Hyperstpne Heist has more enemies on-screen than the SNES version of Turtles in Time as well, but don't quote me on that. I would need to check to make sure 😅

I remember this one game in this genre. I just can’t remember if it was on the SNES. I know it involved you beating up waves of enemies before taking on the boss. There was this one particular stage where the minions rollerbladed back and forth and attacked with hockey sticks. I didn’t see it in this list.

Anyone remember a game beat em up style that you could mount on robots? I was trying to remember simply because this game was so good, but I simply can't, lol. The robots have different colors, some had fire weapons, other ice weapons. I'm preety sure it was a snes game...

Late reply, but you're probably thinking of Captain Commando (seen at 1:44). Later levels had mechs you could ride on, some that fired ice, others that shot out flames.

The peacekeepers teenage mutant Ninja turtles turtles in time Ninja warriors do it again brawl Brothers rival turf Excalibur 2094 and hagane blade dancer lineage of light. What are the last three aren't really beat em ups fully but the Incorporated action elements. This is a fully expensive list I enjoyed it nice job on the video thank you.

I`m looking for a beatem up game that consists of a modern fighter that has its training fighting against his master, than he goes to the USA stage, then the Japan stage, then the Thailand stage, all with a boss in the end that is ninja alike. It was all in japanese, i never knew it`s name and i couldn`t pass the Third stage.

The first one is a beat em up, but the main genre is "platform" cause it's 2 way (the real beat em up you need to move your character in 8 way positions). But well noted. :)

games were hard back then...kids don't understand how pampered they are even in entertainment. very few people beat *battletoads battlemaniacs* without cheating. the sprites for that sailor moon game look nice. leave it to japan. Master of 2D to have better stuff than the West does. final fight tough. i don't recall many female characters in games from that era :3 what kind of director...sees a power rangers game...that you do not play as them in their suit 100% of the time...as a acceptable idea!?

You're right Akemi, I remember beating Battletoads for SNES, it took me forever to do that. The beat 'em up genre has a lot of great games, some of them I didn't even know. If possible, you should try some of them.

you don't recall many female characters on beat em ups, because that kind of games, was made for male characters, and male public. but you have alot female characters about aventure platforms, and some others stuff, but have nothing to do with genre. at that time, women were not a great audience for games like today. and in that time, creativity is inherent to gender. btw, power ranger on sega, has all the time the suits.. but i think in snes, They wanted to put the option to transform you as it happens in the series
