Lovely voice. I found this album of hildegard chants by Joseph Rowe and Catherine Braslavsky. The singing is beautiful, and the chants are accompanied by haunting intstrumental interpretations. It's called "Marriage of the Heavens and the Earth".

Azam Ali is fine. Coming from her Indo-Iranian background she's at the source of some of the things that DCD also used. But for me, the fascination with Lisa G. was never the ethnic/worldmusic sounding tracks but that she can be totally abstract and still reach inside you and grab your heart. And when that happens, you aren't drifting or meditating, instead, you are transfixed, and exposed to something that is very raw and powerful, and seems to come from inside and outside at the same time.

I did some research and they say her visions are consistent with symptoms of extreme migraines. But I also respect her amazing accomplishments.

She lacks the quality that makes Lisa Gerrard's singing fearsomely beautiful instead of just nice. Hildegard was a clever and amazing personality. Somehow it is a pitty, that she also used killed animals for her medical research. especially because of her great knowlege about medical plant-drugs, she could have avioded animal suffer very easily.
