This is still just the model what introduced on WWDC for developers to let them make their app ready.. you just allowed to buy the remain headsets what are not requested by the developers in that 6 months period why you had no chance to get one... and developers can work without social features, they doesn't need that to prepare their own apps.. so not the most important thing, when you buy a model what introduced for you (so not on the developer conference, on the iPhone event or on a Mac event..) you can complain about that, until that you are just someone who is more interested in this like those who have patience to buy the model what made for the public (so not a limited in number, like you never heard that we will sell 10million iPhone, so if you want one, buy it in time..)

The terminology is - realistic vs. authentic. It was one of PIXARs philosophies in the early days. When competitors tried to make 'photo' realistic 3D animated movies, PIXAR made authentic feeling movies. Where characters had personality, rather then looking realistic.

To get a full body scan for special persona, apple should let people use a scan from a full body picture and then the clothes u wear in the picture shows up in the soacial full body persona. That would be cool. Or some how scan your full body with the Apple vision pro

People have short memories. Apple has sold already roughly half as many Vision Pros as it sold iPhones in the first year. The first iPhone had no 3rd party apps at all and no App Store, no copy/paste, no 3G, no iMessage or MMS support for picture messaging, no FaceTime, no front facing camera, an at the time outdated 2MP main camera without a flashlight, no maps turn by turn navigation, no Home Screen wallpapers (just a black screen), no Siri, no accessibility features, no video recording, no stereo Bluetooth, had to connect to PC/Mac and use iTunes to activate phone and for any software updates, no landscape keyboard, no Notification Centre, no multitasking or app switcher, no downloading files and no file manager to store any files, and many more missing features.

@@harrykatsarosthe difference is there weren’t other smartphones available with all those features when iPhone launched. They were blazing a trail and making it up as they went. There are plenty of VR systems that are far superior already on the market. For most people a $500 Quest is far more useful than this $3500 package. It’s a different thing.

This update was absolutely necessary, so good, but... they still need to work a LOT on the shared experience. This simple scenario was one of the most frustrating experience I've had with electronics in over a decade: Imagine you have 2 Vision Pros, that you spent $8000 on. They are both under your account of course. A friend comes over and you want to watch a movie together. This is nearly impossible, because you need to Facetime call yourself, which doesn't work, and also Facetime doesn't work when in guest mode, so they can't have the Vision Pro calibrated to their eyes. Shared spaces/windows should be as easy to create as doing an AirDrop, independently of what account the 2 devices are on.

Being "In Fortnight on discord" is more than just being in discord.. you are WITH other people IN THE VIRTUAL SPACE. (Fortnight) Voice just connects the missing piece of doing multiplayer gaming with friends. I'll take a gamified version of my friend in the game where we can do big, impossible things over a realistic avatar of them where you can only talk or do basic things like play cards.

Great video. Speed? Can you play POKER? The other people who have used this feature said the eyes and facial expressions make it easy to fall into a comfortable feeling of actually being in the room with each other. In other words, it’s the most convincing feeling of reality in a headset.

You know what would be bad about VR Card Games? That they already have preprogrammed rules, so for instance in Uno you wouldn't be able to screw people over because you couldn't place a +2 on top of a +4 or you couldn't stack up +4s I think you know, the actuall rules that make the game not as fun xd

i dont want exact realistic perfect personas with the whole body in the future, i dont want a future where i dont see any difference with the irl and the virtual world , i want people to notice the difference between the worlds and accept the difference. i dont want people to lose inside the virtual space too much. it will damage their irl a lot, in some way or another. for official business meetings, maybe the hd face, shoulder and hands are enough, with a blur stomach, without legs, like floating, just enough to understand the body language.

At 11 minutes Adam shits all over Andrew’s face about his buying someone a bad gift comment. The Apple vision has a while to go. It’s only been a few months and changes are showing a positive move forward. After Andrew got called out for being an android person but using a Mac, he got it skinned 😂 and now his attitude toward the Apple vision seems very biased and not from experience. Great optimism David.

Man wait till they hear about VRChat. We've been doing all the things they were talking about as examples, social, games, avatar types, events etc., and way way more, cross-platform for YEARS 😂(ik AVP can't work in VRC, just the social tech existing in general for headsets like Quest and PCVR).

This is ARChat with people who look like themselves. VRChat is a different beast. Also, AVP can work in VRC by going into Safari settings and enabling one toggle in the Advanced tab.

I like Meta Quest but their weak softwares library for 5 years is gonna be easily overtaken by Vision Pro despite it having an initial larger price target
