This week, we start off by discussing some of the better April Fool's jokes including our own Teslabot short and the Discord loot box fiasco. After that it's all about Apple. We talk about Apple trying to take over podcasts, bringing RCS to iPhone later this year, and an update that came to personas on the Apple Vision Pro. Lastly, we round it out by discussing the Xiaomi electric car before finishing up with trivia. Enjoy!

The podcast story reminds me, you guys are the only podcasts that I consume over KZfaq. Mainly due to the reason I came to WVFRM via the Studio, so I love to see Marques, Andrew, David, Elis and Adam. I like to see you guys react to stuff, not to mention tech news is something that almost always requires visuals. The other podcasts I hear are basically me listening to someone rant about a certain thing, like a certain trope in linguistics or how Ancient Aliens is wrong. I can do that over Spotify and Pocket Casts.

And that sucks. There’s one podcast that I used to listen every now and then, and out of nowhere they annouced a “partnership” with Spotify. It’s not much, but they lost a fan, because I refuse to open Spotify just for that. In fact, I ended up deleting Spotify from my phone cause I’m salty.

Just wanna say that the tablets on the back of the SU7 are not included in the car. They just made mounts for different tablets, including Xiaomi tablets and iPads. Also, there have already been some deliveries to early customers. All the specs are matched including the 0-60.

The BIG difference between videos and podcasts is the costs associated with delivering the media. KZfaq takes a 55% cut, because probably half of that (maybe more, maybe less) goes into costs of delivering the video to viewers and their other features. With podcasts, they would have less then 10% of the cost of a video of equal length.

You can turn that PIP off in the settings. Go to notifications in your settings menu, then advanced settings, then "pop-up notifications" You can choose 3 options. Bubble, smart pop-up, and off.

I think the thing that most people don’t realize about spatial personas, is that this is literally the closest thing to physical teleportation that we’ve ever had. The scans will become better, the “beta” note will disappear, whole bodies will be rendered your space. The fact that we’re able to experience the very inception of this technology is quite inspiring.

I just tried the Vision Pro. a 30 minute demo was all I needed to experience it. Right now there is no content. If you have 2 people with a vision, the ability to share spatial experiences is amazing. However, I still recommend buying 7 Quest 3's and passing them out to friends and family vs 1 Vision Pro.

Another feature in the podcasting 2.0 spec is a value tag where you can put a bitcoin lightning address. There are a bunch of podcast apps that support sending donations in bitcoin to the podcast, including a 'streaming' feature where you send X sats per minute listened. You can even do 'splits' with multiple wallet address for different people and the get a percentage of the sats sent to that entry in the feed, e.g. X percent for your editor, X percent for the hosting platform, X percent for any music creator's stuff you used etc.

FYI: Vingroup is first and foremost, a real estate company lol, they have hundreds of appartment building and most of the big malls in Vietnam are also Vingroup's - Vincom. Small correction about the discord april fools joke. Hiding the lootbox popup didn't stop the from playing the looping video. It just hid the but it kept playing. So every running discord client had this video on loop the entire time.

I think the hosts confused the "estimated delivery date if you lock the order now" with "delivery starting at date" for Su7. Su7 has already started delivery on April 3rd (Founders Edition), thus the clam that the standard version delivers sooner is not correct, the estimated delivery of the Max version takes more time just because it's a rather popular choice.

Yes, make a podcast app. As for discoverability. You could run the podcast episodes through an voice-recognition program to trascribe each episode, and then feed that transcription into an MLM or something to "learn" what that episode was about. The a.i. writes a quick summary, or pick 20 keywords or something, and then deletes the rest of the transcript, and then it stores the summary/keywords in a database that then you have your search/discover algorithm sift through. ***(not a computer scientist)

I love Samsung's implementation of popups a lot being a huge multitasker, don't need to leave the app and you can make it full screen or split screen too with a single tap. Hope that helps Andrew.
