Don't Mess with Texas! The Lone Star State is known for a lot of great things, BBQ, Friendly People, Longhorns, Tex-Mex, and so much more. However, in a state so large there are some things travelers and tourists should not do in Texas as well. So, if you are visiting Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio or Corpus Cristi here are the Don'ts of Visiting Texas as a traveler.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.
amzn.to/2L55pDR
We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
amzn.to/2WbTNFH
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.
amzn.to/35AWqUs
Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.
amzn.to/2YDeADt
Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here
Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

One time a few years ago, I was driving to town after church and saw a car sitting on the side of the road and someone standing beside it. So I pulled up and asked if they needed any help. The woman turned around and said that she had been eating while she drove and had just stopped to brush the crumbs off her clothes. She then asked, "Do people really stop to help strangers around here?"
@OkiePeg411

@carolynridlon3988 Texas has gotten ridiculously expensive to live in. Housing and rents are crazy. I had to move out of Texas (my home state) to Oklahoma nearly 20 years ago because of a life event. I love it here in my smaller town but have very often longed to move back to Texas...but I can't afford to buy or even rent anything, anywhere in any part of the state. So, I guess I'll stay in my nice town in Oklahoma.

Around 20% of Texans due to recent polls would like to succeed from the USA. Also Texas is the the only place that could stand on its own two feet. We have our own power grid, own food production, the city of Houston is as major medical care center and anti-cancer capital of the world, Houston also has a decently sized port, a lot of tourism, our own oil production and refineries, shall I go on? Texas could succeed and would probably be able to survive on its own. Side note Texas has a decent amount of soldiers in the US army, and one of the only intercontinental airports in the nation.

Yep I am laughing about everything he has wrong. he is only focusing on the hill country. of course there is stuff that applies everywhere in Texas but a lot of the stuff is very isolated to the hill country and not to DFW and also he is forgetting that east Texas is very much the deep south that is why a lot of people think Texas is the deep south without that Texas would be considered apart of the Midwest like a lot of the panhandle is

I've lived in Texas since 1981. You hit the nail on the head about the Texas drivers and the traffic. Yes, you DO need a vehicle here. Don't get fooled when you see a light rail train, they serve a very small segment of the population, and they don't go to a lot of places where one would want to go. There are also a lot of ethnic restaurants here, too.

Rules for driving in Texas. 1: Speed limits are more of a suggestion as to the slowest you should be driving. 2: Stay out of the left lane unless you are passing. Trust me even if you are doing the speed limit stay out of the left lane. 3: We do not measure distance by miles, we use hours. Mile stopped mattering after the first hour and a half. 4: If you see a Bucee's you should stop there. Even if it's just to use the bathroom. Also San Antonio gets more rain per year than parts of the Amazon rain forest. You should probably not come here that one week end. lol

Sooo much to see and places to hike and hidden gems where you can go for a swim. Independant shops in the hillcountry that are amazing! Vineyards! Wine country. January is usually our “Winter-ish” month. A shearling jacket will probably all you need. Otherwise a light sweater will do for a few weeks. High humidity for sure. And yes the ..Thank you’s.
