In February 2012 I was invited to visit Adams Organic Farm in Pak Thong Chai, Thailand. Being curious about organic farming practices here in the Kingdom, I was interested in having a behind the scenes look. I'm very impressed by their efforts and hope that the market for organics continues to grow here.

There was a study done on organic and pesticide free labelled foods that are sold in Bangkok. The results were that the foods contained high amounts of harmful pesticides.

Thank you for your comment. While we could probably have a lengthy discussion about the merits/demerits of the USFDA, my point behind mentioning it was to illustrate that there are some international standards being upheld, above and beyond whatever (possibly minimal) standards that are set by Thailand's FDA for organic produce.

Thank you for your comment. I don't see how this organic farm uses any more packaging than convention farms. As for wanting to be healthy, in addition to eating less and working out more, I also choose organic vegetables. Fewer pesticides in my diet is a good thing.

People usually focus on personal health reason when consuming organic produce. Indeed this is a good reason and high quality certification will make sure the produce is genuine. Also, by supporting organic consumption, suppliers like Adams Organic will be able to convert more fields into organic production. This will benefit both the environment as well as the living standard of the farming communities. Whether it is in Thailand, Africa or USA. Give your support and let's make the changes.

For their contact information, please check their website. You can google "adams organic thailand" to find both the website and their facebook page. Unfortunately, KZfaq doesn't let me paste links into the comments.

this is not an organic vegetable but a different way to plant a vegetable, lets be honest that kind of planting waste many more plastic than a normal way of planting which isn't good for environment anyway. if it is an organic, the human tempering of the growth process should be eliminate and in this farm, they still do the same thing which is trying to control the plant, they just doing it differently. if pesticide was not organic, where is it coming from? another planet?
